In order to create the ultimate 50s vintage humbucker sound from this genius, Pete Thorn's cooperation was necessary, and it can be said that they have succeeded in perfectly embodying it in the Signature Pickup Thorn Bucker, named after him!
The 2016 updated version of Thorn Bucker, + Plus, has arrived in Japan!
While retaining the basic concept of an Alnico IV magnet and plain enamel wire, this ambitious piece has been tuned slightly higher, at around 0.2-0.3 DC Reg, to achieve a more powerful yet clear and captivating sound, and an exquisite combination with the neck pickup!
This is an ambitious work that makes them say they have achieved the sound of an overwound 50s vintage humbucker!
This pickup was one of the first to be adopted in the 2016 Collection released by Suhr Guitar, and has already been the subject of many inquiries from connoisseurs, so be sure to check out its capabilities!

It all started when Pete Thorn came up with the Tone Concept to overcome the frustration he felt with pickups from many boutique manufacturers.
Designed to faithfully reproduce the clear, versatile, and expressive sound of the 50's PAF pickup.
Pete says, "I've played a lot of two-humbucker guitars,
It's perfect for distorting leads,
Playing clean or crunch notes in the neck or middle positions is disappointing.
If you have to switch to a single coil guitar during a live performance,
Instead of concentrating on playing, I end up having to readjust my amp and effects.
But with a vintage guitar humbucker, it's multi-tone, clear,
It really brings out those killer clean and semi-dirty tones."
The 50's PAF was long thought to be impossible to remake, but Suhr Guitars' cutting-edge technology has helped it overcome this final hurdle.
