Description

The "Hermes" series is a passive model that produces the instrument's natural tone as is.

Kikuchi Guitars was born 30 years after Yoshiyuki Kikuchi, a leading Japanese luthier, visited Roger Sadowsky, a world-renowned contemporary master craftsman. You can experience the full depth of his musical instrument knowledge, which he has cultivated while faithfully inheriting Sadowsky's philosophy.

The "Hermes" series is the brand's standard series. While the basic specifications and manufacturing quality are almost the same as the custom models, the standard model with fixed specifications offers high cost performance.

This purely passive model features newly developed pickups that convert the instrument's natural resonance, created through the precise assembly of the body and neck, into an electrical signal without compromising it. Combined with simple controls, these newly developed pickups deliver the warm, natural tone that only a passive guitar can offer. They capture every nuance of your picking without compromising it, allowing you to fully express your individuality, from groove-filled playing to percussive slap techniques. Kikuchi Guitars, the brand that embodies Kikuchi's expertise and experience at Sadowsky and Three Dots Guitars, is a culmination of his work. Experience the world-class sound and playability of this instrument.

?Pickups?
The newly developed pickups, exclusively for the Passive model, are based on a tone that provides a sense of separation between the sounds of each string and a vintage feeling with a natural warmth, and the volume and tone balance have been adjusted to ensure a spotless connection between each string.

?Controls?
The classic 2-volume, 1-tone Passive pickup design allows for precise picking, and adjusting the volume balance of each pickup creates a wide range of tones.

?Body?
The body has been redesigned to a Dinky shape, allowing players of all sizes to play comfortably. The lack of a recess on the back panel further amplifies the natural sound produced by the wood.

The MV model is made of ash and features a light, crisp tone from the maple fingerboard, as well as a dry, punchy tone.

?Neck?
The neck is made stronger and the head is thicker to produce optimal instrument sound and weight balance when playing.

The nut width is narrower than that of a typical J-style guitar, and the neck grip is moderately thick for durability and playability, making it easy to grip. This allows you to play smoothly from low to high positions, and even on 5-string mutes with wide neck widths.

In addition, by using nickel frets with a higher hardness, we have reduced the noise generated when pressing the frets, producing a punchy sound despite the nickel frets. The 22-fret count allows for compatibility with a wide range of musical genres. The neck joint is positioned deeper toward the bridge without excessive fringing, allowing for playing with a feel similar to that of a 21-fret bass.

The string height is set uniformly at every fret position to accommodate a variety of playing styles and musical genres, producing a powerful tone for powerful picking and a warm, enveloping tone for gentle, caressing fingering.
