■Maximum 60 channels of simultaneous input/output

Connect any imaginable studio equipment, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines, outboard processors, MIDI devices, optical expanders, and even foot pedals. All 28 inputs and 32 outputs on the 828 can be used simultaneously.

■ Extremely low latency performance

With optimized drivers for both Mac and PC, the 828 delivers ultra-low latency performance. With a 32-sample host buffer and 96 kHz sample rate, the 828 delivers an incredibly fast round-trip latency (RTL) of just ≤2 ms over USB (2 or 3) connections in high-performance DAWs like Digital Performer.

Crystal-clear microphone channel and Hi-Z guitar input

Exceptional audio performance—-114 dB THD+N, 115 dB dynamic range, and -129 dBu EIN—provides incredibly natural-sounding recording and streaming. Each mic channel features independent preamp gain, pad, 48V phantom power, and remote control from a computer or iOS device. Each combo jack doubles as a mic input and a 1/4-inch high-impedance TS guitar input for DI tracking or re-amping.

■DIY guitar re-amp

Direct your guitar to the front-panel input and loop it to any output via the 828's near-zero latency mixer app, CueMix 5 (using a reamp adapter, if desired), allowing you to simultaneously record both the dry signal and a mic'd-up amp. Reamping lets you re-amp the dry signal after recording with a different amp, cabinet, or amp modeling plug-in for a variety of tones, eliminating the need to replug cables between recording and re-amping setups.

■Outboard insert realized

Need a compressor or other outboard gear? Each 828 mic input has a dedicated analog send/return loop, allowing outboard processing for either mono or stereo mic channels. If nothing is plugged into a mic input, the return channel functions as an additional line input with the same signal characteristics as the other line inputs.

■ Control up to 10 analog outputs

Control your 5.1 or 7.1 surround speaker system with a single fader. Monitor Groups give you the flexibility to choose which analog outputs you want to control.

■A/B speaker switching and talkback

The front-panel Talkback switch lets you maintain command of your recording session. If you've connected two sets of monitor speakers to the output, you can instantly switch between them with the front-panel A/B Select button, allowing you to instantly check your mix on different monitor devices and perform A/B testing.

We have released the Thunderbolt 3 compatible USB 4 cable "SCI-04," which aims to be at the cutting edge of professional digital recording environments.
The versatility of USB4 means it can be used for a variety of purposes beyond music production.

With the recent trend toward faster communication speeds and greater compatibility with the USB standard, the number of devices using Thunderbolt connections and USB 2.0 or higher continues to increase in professional recording studios.
Furthermore, the shift to USB Type-C in music and video production environments is accelerating, and it is not uncommon to see users using docking stations or MacBook Pros as the core of their systems.
Based on the basic concepts of data transfer, we also applied analog approaches such as noise suppression and excellent electrical characteristics.

Details of SCI-04: High-performance conductor and reinforced power line The conductor of the "SCI-04" is made of "thick-gauge silver-plated high-purity oxygen-free copper", which improves the conductor skin effect during high-speed communication and increases transmission efficiency.
In addition, the power lines have been reinforced to AWG21, improving the stability of bus-powered devices and software.

●Complete noise prevention The signal path uses an ultra-fine coaxial structure with triple shielding (tin-plated copper braided shield, aluminum Mylar tape, copper Mylar tape) to increase noise resistance, reducing conducted noise levels by approximately 25% compared to a typical USB4 cable (twisted pair).
As a result, interference caused by radiated noise is prevented, and stable transfer performance is ensured.

Excellent connector design
The USB Type-C connector uses a Corson alloy, which has excellent metallic spring properties and conductivity.
It is equipped with a highly reliable Type-C connector that has improved insertion/removal durability and transmission efficiency.
In addition, the combination of an aluminum cover printed with the Oyaide/NEO logo and PVC resin suppresses resonance frequencies and controls micro-vibrations to the terminals.
In addition, the inside of the connector is equipped with an aluminum cover and shell shield to provide 360-degree protection for the cable joint from noise, improving the shielding effect all the way to the end of the cable.
In digital transmission, the precision of the connector is important to suppress reflection noise.
The USB4 cable, which consists of a total of 15 cores, maintains impedance consistency by using a fully automated, state-of-the-art soldering process to reduce contact loss.

●The highly durable "SCI-04" uses a high-quality, dedicated TPE sheath material that is less likely to hydrolyze.
It offers high durability and flexibility, and delivers excellent performance even over long-term use.
While cable outer diameter and performance are proportional, with the SCI-04 we placed importance on balancing ease of handling with durability.
With professional use in mind, we carefully considered the balance of convenience, durability, and transmission performance, and have adopted a thicker cable outer diameter of 5.3 mm.

●Eye-catching color design The cable color is "matt black."
We take into consideration the increasing number of conceptual stages where restrictions are placed on the cable colors of equipment.
On the other hand, cable visibility is also important during setup and operation on stage, such as setting up and recovering.
Therefore, we added a visual accent of "gold anodized aluminum" to the connector cover, improving the sense of luxury and visibility.

●The most advanced USB4 standard
USB4 is compatible with any USB Type-C interface.
It is compatible with Thunderbolt 3, which has become the standard in professional recording environments, and of course supports cascade connections.
Furthermore, it is backward compatible with USB 2.0 to USB 3.2, so it can be used with any USB Type-C device.
It also supports display/monitor connections for video production/gaming using DisplayPort Alt Mode, video output for smartphones that support DP Alt Mode, such as iPhones and iPads (USB Type-C connection), and high-speed charging/power supply via USB Power Delivery (up to 60W), allowing you to upgrade a wide variety of USB Type-C environments.

●World-class quality control.Compact and highly convenient Type-C connector.
Because it is small and easy to carry, durability is essential.
The "SCI-04" is manufactured under strict quality control, and only those that pass rigorous testing are shipped.
In addition to tests under actual usage conditions such as insertion/removal durability, bending durability, and load durability, the cable undergoes a characteristic impedance test called a TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) test, and in terms of environment, the cable is placed in high and low temperature environments with an altitude difference of 80°C or more for more than 48 hours to test its condition and electrical characteristics. In addition, the cable undergoes tests in humidity of 80% or more and ultraviolet light exposure. Only products that pass all of these tests are made into products.

●A wide range of cable lengths are available, ranging from 0.7m to 2.5m, for a total of four options.
The "SCI-04 0.7m" supports transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps, while the "1.2m", "1.8m", and "2.5m" models support transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps.
In addition, by improving noise resistance, we have succeeded in extending the transfer distance to 2.5m.
While maintaining high quality, it also allows for greater freedom in equipment placement.
