Description

Single Channel Class A Preamp

The Soyuz Lakeside Preamp is a single-channel, discrete Class A preamp. Its input and output are equipped with custom Soyuz transformers, and its design has been meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail. Its distinctive sound adds depth and richness to the sound input from the microphone. Not only does its wide headroom accurately deliver vocals to the speakers, but depending on the settings, it can also bring each sound to life, from the emotional energy of a guitar to the texture of a drum. Its simple structure eliminates the need for complex operation, allowing you to achieve a "complete sound" simply by connecting it—one of the Lakeside Preamp's unique features.

This hybrid design is inspired by the sound of vintage equipment and matches it with modern sound and studio engineering. At its heart are Soyuz's custom transformers installed in the input and output sections, which add richness to the sound with their rich harmonics. The Class A, all-discrete construction and through-hole board maximize the potential of each component, delivering clarity and optimal performance. The latest technology delivers both the rich sound of vintage equipment and the wide headroom and low noise of modern equipment.

The simple design allows for intuitive sound control. The GAIN control controls the level and saturation of the input signal, while the OUTPUT control fine-tunes the output. By combining these controls, you can create a wide range of sounds, from a clean sound with ample headroom to a drive sound with rich harmonics. Both controls operate in 5dB steps, making it easy to recall settings and match them across multiple units.

The inductor-based high-pass filter can be set between 40Hz and 330Hz. Its natural curve allows it to quickly and naturally cut out unwanted low frequencies without losing the nuances of the original sound.

The Lakeside Preamp brings out the potential of various microphones, including condenser, dynamic, and ribbon microphones, as well as the Soyuz microphone, providing a wide dynamic range and depth. It also features a 1/4" input jack on the front panel, allowing you to connect high-impedance instruments such as bass guitars and synthesizers.
