Description
Description
Apogee, the leader in professional audio interfaces, has released the Symphony Studio, a direct descendant of their flagship Symphony I/O series, featuring the latest sound components, marking a new chapter in the history of digital recording.
■Crystal sound that blends the past and the future
The 24-bit, 192kHz maximum converter achieves high-quality conversion with a dynamic range of 124 dB AD and 129 dB DA, accurately conveying the subtleties of the artist's and player's expression, while the natural, high-fidelity DA conversion provides accurate monitoring.
The built-in microphone preamp provides 75dB of gain and utilizes Apogee's legendary Advanced Stepped Gain technology, ensuring a clear, distortion-free sound image regardless of gain setting. It also shares the same ADC chip as the Symphony I/O mk2 SE model.
The DAC uses the latest ESS Sabre chip. Separate chips are used for the line and headphone outputs. The ample drive capacity maximizes DAC performance. Additionally, two zero-ohm headphone outputs are provided. Low distortion ensures ideal monitoring, regardless of the type of headphones.
Three models designed for modern workflows
Compatible with Mac and Windows via USB-C connection. Available in three models (8x8, 2x12, and 8x16) with different inputs and outputs. Choose the model that best suits your production environment, from multi-channel recording to immersive mixing.
*When released in January 2025, it will be compatible with Mac OS Ventura or later; Windows support will be available at a later date.
■DSP with the spirit of a legendary engineer *Support will be available at a later date The input section is equipped with a special DSP channel strip designed by Symphny Studio. It features a compressor, EQ, and saturation based on the ECS Channel Strip, which was overseen by legendary engineer Bob Clearmountain. This allows you to actively create sounds at the recording stage, such as making them clearer or adding punch.
■ Realizing the ideal monitoring environment DSP is installed in the output section. The DSP processor adjusts the monitor speakers and studio environment to create the ideal environment. Room EQ corrects problems in the listening environment, and bass management optimizes subwoofer integration, providing a seamless and immersive listening environment. In addition, delay corrects for variations in speakers and listening position. These processes enable clear and accurate monitoring.
Up to eight calibration settings can be saved as presets, allowing you to switch between stereo, 5.1, 7.1.4, and other monitor setups with the touch of a button. Future updates will also support integration with external calibration tools.
Apogee Control 2: The ultimate in control
Includes Apogee Control 2, a dedicated application for flexible Symphony Studio setups, including routing, monitor mix, DSP adjustment, programming, eight savable monitor workflows, and control of two subwoofers.
In addition, by connecting to the optional Apogee Control Remote Hardware, you can assign frequently used functions to buttons and instantly load saved setups.
