The LA-120 is built around American-made JFETs, capturing the voice and character of your sound with unprecedented realism and authenticity.
Onboard sound shaping eliminates the need for mic swaps for a time-efficient recording workflow, while a built-in switch lets you switch between a crisp, smooth sound and even a ribbon-mic-like sound.
The hand-tuned 17mm capsule delivers a transparent, realistic sound with a musical blend of transient response and natural compression, making it ideal for drum overheads, percussion, acoustic guitar, and piano.
The cardioid capsule focuses the sound directly where the microphone is pointed, reducing the overall room sound being recorded, while the omnidirectional capsule captures the sound of the room and other off-axis instruments in a natural, uncolored, and authentic way.
Built around American-made JFETs, high-resolution, low-distortion polypropylene capacitors and resistors are hand-implemented to deliver a clear, uncolored, and impactful sound performance.
While the LA-120 is designed to perform well in a variety of applications, there are times when you may want to use it in particularly loud applications. The optional inline pad allows you to take full advantage of the LA-120's dynamic range and depth, even with high SPL sources.
