Description
Description
The GA-40, commonly known as the Les Paul amplifier, with "Les Paul Model" silkscreened on the front panel, was released in 1952, just like the Les Paul guitar. This model was one of the first to incorporate the Baxandall-style equalizer circuit, invented by Peter Baxandall in the 1950s and still popular today, and a tremolo circuit designed by Seth E. Lover. It was developed to maximize the tone of the Les Paul model. The GA-40 underwent several minor changes and continued to be produced until the 1960s.
This latest arrival is a 1953 model, the first in its series, with an attractive two-tone brown color reminiscent of the guitar's brown case.
【cabinet】
The speaker grille has an "LP" logo, the front panel has a "Les Paul Model" silkscreen near the right, and the "Gibson" logo in the center (the Gibson logo has now disappeared). Although there are scratches and signs of use appropriate for its age, it is in relatively good condition.
[Inside]
The speaker is a Jensen P12P alnico speaker. The tremolo footswitch is new. All other consumable parts, such as the vacuum tube, resistors, capacitors, power cord, and one pot, have been replaced and overhauled in-store. The 12-14W output and 12-inch speaker deliver a natural, pleasant tone with a soft tremolo. While you can expect great tone from a single-coil guitar, we recommend trying out the sound of a Gibson or Les Paul model.
*We have thoroughly checked the operation of the product at our store, but original consumable parts are not covered by the warranty. Thank you for your understanding.
