Description
Description
The S-420b features an orthodox style that suits any player, incorporating many of the ideas that SAITO GUTARS has cultivated over the years. Its simple appearance, ease of use, versatile sound, and high playability are all part of Saito Guitars' commitment to creating "simple, beautiful instruments," resulting in a product that will allow you to fully enjoy playing. Because manufacturing costs inevitably have to be reflected in the price, the company actively uses NC and simplifies the painting process, actively streamlining everything that can be eliminated, allowing them to offer an attractive price for a purely Japanese-made instrument.
This model features an ash body and maple fingerboard. Its distinctive design combines a familiar JB-style rim with an arched top and elbow contours. While the center of the body, where the neck and bridge are attached, remains thick, the rim is thinner, resulting in a lighter feel and a more comfortable, maneuverable feel.
The neck is made of hard maple, and in addition to the grip-shaped fingerboard finish, the frets are grooved all the way to the inside of the fingerboard, creating a binding-like effect that reduces burrs and allows for stress-free playing. Luminlay is used for the side positions, providing excellent visibility in the dark. The distinctive look of the fingerboard extending all the way to the headstock, only possible thanks to NC's high precision, is achieved by increasing the headstock thickness on the 1st string side, ensuring high strength and preventing head tilt. The attention to detail is apparent the moment you pick it up.
The pickups, crucial to the guitar's sound, are hand-wired with the SAYTONE Vantage Set. Designed based on digital meter readings to eliminate sensory influences like hearing, the pickups deliver consistent quality, excellent attack and separation, and accurately capture the nuances of picking with a pick or your fingers. In addition to a solid low-midrange sound that's somewhere between traditional and modern, and a clear high range that's not overly hi-fi, the neck joint features a 5mm thick, recessed aluminum joint plate that doesn't impair playability. This reduces the impact on weight and provides a crisper, more sustained sound than stainless steel joints, while also providing crisper slapping.
The distinct sound that is characteristic of ash is pleasant, and the turquoise color that allows the grain to show through is very refreshing.
