Description
Description
The LAKLAND BASS was designed in 1994 by player Dan Lakin and two builders. This "Deluxe" model from the 94 Series, the brand's flagship model, features a quilted maple top. This bass also boasts the soft, flexible response you expect from Lakeland, with a rich texture that makes it perfect for vocals.
Weighing just 3.65kg, this lightweight instrument boasts a swamp ash body, a rigid maple neck with graphite, and a birdseye maple fingerboard, all of which are characteristic of a USA-made instrument. This current model features LAKLAND's original alnico pickups in the familiar JH layout, the original LH-3 active 3-band circuit, and a front/parallel/rear coil humbucking switch.
The rear pickup selector switch allows for a versatile JB-style layout (60s location/70s location), as well as MM/Parallel Humbucker mode, allowing for versatile use depending on the situation and the nature of the song. The key to its popularity is its ability to cover a wide range of traditional bass characteristics. Furthermore, the rear panel DIP switch allows for selection of the mid-range frequency band (275Hz, 600Hz, 900Hz, 1100Hz), allowing for a wide range of sound shaping. This range is particularly useful for live ensembles and is ideal for live performances. The thin neck is extremely comfortable and allows for stress-free playing in all positions. The graphite reinforced neck design, along with other features, highlight the player's attention to detail, further enhancing the guitar's sophisticated design.
The body top of this instrument is crafted from unique quilted maple. The dynamic movement of the grain is also appealing. The fingerboard is also crafted from the hard-looking birdseye maple, giving it the presence you'd expect from a USA-made instrument. The rich resonance of the USA-made body, combined with the incredibly sensitive nuances and refined overtones that are inherent in the bass, will give you a reliable feeling of solid support from the bottom up. It seems like new USA products are becoming increasingly scarce these days. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy an authentic, USA-made LAKLAND!

【Features】
[5 Bolt Neck]
The wide contact area of the joint ensures that neck vibrations are transmitted to the body, faithfully reproducing the delicate resonance of the strings produced by the player's fingertips. The five-point bolt-on joint also prevents misalignment and ensures ample strength.
[22 Fret]
In response to requests for a wide range of tones, Dan chose the 22-fret design to ensure space that would not interfere with slapping.
[Fingerboard Slope]
Dan, an accomplished repairman, was troubled by the fact that many bass heads tend to lift and bend over years of use. To ensure they stay in good condition for a lifetime, LAKLAND bass heads are crafted with a gentle curve from the fingerboard to the headtop.
[LAKLAND Original Pickup MM-J]
Previously, ceramic magnet pickups were used, but after repeated experimentation, alnico magnets were chosen for the current model, and the number of coil turns was also determined to obtain output that was suitable for the active circuit.
[Control Cavity]
The inside of the cavity is perfectly shielded by copper foil with low electrical resistance, protecting the electrical signal from external noise.
[Deep Cutaway & Diagonal Heel]
The deep cutaway, shaped deeper than the 22nd fret, and the angled diagonal heel make it easy to play in the upper positions. Combined with the precisely machined neck grip right up to the joint, it's stress-free.
[Double Design Bridge]
The original bridge is designed for comfort and is an excellent bridge that allows you to choose how to string from either the front or back of the body, allowing you to control the tension according to your preference.
