Many people may know that the Super Fuzz, one of the legendary thunderous effect pedals, was produced by a Japanese manufacturer at the request of Unicord, the American company that owns the Univox brand. Initially, production was handled by Honey Corporation, and after Honey went bankrupt, production was transferred to Shin-ei Electric Co., Ltd.
This is a late-model Shin-ei guitar. While the footswitch rubber cover has deteriorated and the body is scratched, it's in excellent condition, typical of a vintage instrument. The battery box cover, battery snap, and tone selector switch have all been replaced. The metal plates on the control knobs have come off.
Its greatest appeal is the storm-like sound that can be heard on numerous sound sources. This is a ferocious unit that is a favorite among thunderous guitarists.
