Description

Recreate the sound and response of classic Plexi to the early 70s British Super Lead and Super Bass amplifiers.
Those British amps powered performances and shaped the sound of rock and roll.
When the house lights dim, all you can see in the dim darkness are rows of red pilot lights glowing from the backline stacks. If you don't have your own British amp stack or a road crew to transport them, the Dirty Little Secret (DLS) is your perfect secret tonal weapon. It's an "always-on" pedal, designed to be the "foundation" of your pedalboard, transforming any amp into that fiery British stack.
This pedal is the heart of your guitar sound, and can be enhanced or embellished by adding boosters, fuzzes, filters, or other overdrives in front of it. The reason you can leave it on all the time is because you can get a great clean sound by simply turning your guitar's volume knob back!
This is the latest evolution of Dirty Little Secret, the famous old school British amp player's way, and the most dynamic British amp style overdrive available.

●Controls ・Treble: Adjusts the high frequency response. Turn clockwise to increase it, and counterclockwise to decrease it. This can be used to adjust the balance between the high frequency components and the mid-low frequency components of the tone.

・Middle: Adjusts the mid-range output. Turn clockwise to increase the strength, and counterclockwise to decrease it. Controls the power range of the guitar.

・Bass: Adjusts the low frequency output. Turn clockwise to increase the strength, and counterclockwise to decrease it. This adjusts the thickness of the low end and can be set over a wide range. We recommend that you trust your ears when adjusting.

・Master: Adjusts the overall volume of the pedal. Turning it clockwise increases the volume, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. It is easier to use if you adjust it so that the volume is just a little higher than when the effect is off.

・Pre-Amp: Adjusts the strength of the distortion. Turning it clockwise increases the distortion, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. This also affects the volume and tone. For a better balance, especially when setting it low, raise the Master, and when setting it high, lower the Bass.

●Internal Controls SL/SB Switch: Switches between SL (Super Lead) and SB (Super Bass) tones.

Presence: This trim pot fine-tunes the top end of the tone. It is factory-set to the most user-friendly setting for most guitars, but you can adjust it to suit your playing environment by turning the trim pot.
To adjust the trim pot, use a precision screwdriver and be careful not to use too much force.

Inspiration
Dirty Little Secret was developed as a secret weapon for sound creation. Isn't it possible to easily create the distorted sound of a tube amp at home? Isn't it possible to create your own tone anytime, even using the amp at the venue? Isn't it possible to get the sound of a distorted amp even with an amp that can only produce clean sounds?
This pedal is designed to solve these problems.
The sound is a classic British stack. It has a natural amp-like response so you can leave it on all the time and use it like a preamp. It's also designed to be used with other pedals such as boosters, fuzzers, and filters. You can also set it to always be on with a lightly distorted sound and then turn down the guitar volume to create a clean tone.

SL/SB mode
SL (Super Lead) mode produces great rock tones. It has beautiful harmonics, touch sensitivity, and allows for higher gain settings than SB mode. The gain range covers everything from classic Plexi amps to modified 80s models. The tones, with their emphasis on upper mids, are truly rock.

SB (Super Bass) mode is similar to the JTM amp, with a Super Bass gain structure. It excels at producing a subtle tone that's "not clean, but not distorted" and has the response of an old tube amp. It's especially well-suited to two-transistor fuzz pedals, and when paired with a Stratocaster, it can create a tone that's close to the gods.
This mode emphasizes the low mids and works well with Fender-style guitars.
