This preamp/overdrive delivers the sound of a British amp in the EAE style, with a lyrical texture.
Citadel is a preamp-style overdrive inspired by the legendary sound of British guitar amps from the 60s and 70s. Rather than recreating a specific model, it encompasses what EAE considers to be the best elements from various generations.
Whether you're using it as an amp-in-a-box style OD pedal, a preamp for connecting to a clean power amp, or a direct recording device without an amp, the Citadel's exceptional headroom and powerful output make it incredibly versatile. Paired with an amp, it not only delivers sweet drive, but also takes the distortion and fuzz from the previous stage to a whole new level.
The sound character embodies the rock sound you'd expect from a British amp, but it's expressed with a delicate, emotional texture that only EAE can achieve. This is a special drive pedal that will surely push the definition of "amp-like."
