Description

This issue's feature is the Tone Bender, a fuzz pedal that was born in the mid-1960s.
As basic knowledge for effects enthusiasts, everyone knows the name, but very few people have actually played the actual unit, making this model synonymous with an extremely rare fuzz.
In particular, the early production models were produced in small numbers, and it is well known that they are even described as phantom items, as they are difficult to come across even no matter how hard a well-known collector searches.
This time, we succeeded in capturing a number of premium models, including one that is believed to be the only one of its kind in Japan.
This exhibition features the entire Tone Bender family and derivative models, from MK I to MK III, manufactured from the mid- to late 1960s. The combined market value of all these models is a staggering several million yen. You'll likely never see such a large collection of vintage Tone Benders in one place again.
Using this extremely awesome instrument as a foothold, we will delve into the mysterious world of the Tone Bender.
The world of ultra-nerdy vintage fuzz is not open to casual listeners, and even just taking a peek into it requires a great deal of courage. Please check your savings balance before reading!
