Description
Description
The Dingwall Bass features a Fanned-Fret System, which allows for slanted frets and a balanced intonation across each string. It's a favorite among top bassists, both in Japan and overseas, across all musical genres. Our Combustion series basses are built with wood sourced in Canada and the United States, processed in a factory in China, and assembled in our Canadian workshop, achieving exceptional cost performance.
This is the signature model of Adam Nolly Get Good, a pioneer of the Djent style who gained attention for his low-tuned, technical, and loud bass lines and is now a producer himself. His touch is evident in every detail, giving this model a unique sound that is different from other Dingwall models, and it has gained popularity in Japan beyond the scope of artist models.
The alder body features a three-piece maple neck and maple fingerboard, with Dingwall's original FD3 pickups mounted in a row toward the rear. While the standard model uses an EMG/BT circuit, this model features the popular Darkglass Custom 3-band EQ, delivering a rich, lustrous yet powerful bass response with fanned fret resonance, a style distinct from the transparent sound of glockenspiel preamps. Like the higher-end Z series, this three-pickup model offers a wide range of sound configurations, including front-only, front and rear, center and rear, and rear-only pickups. Another attractive feature of this model is the distinctive carbon-look pickguard. The attention to detail in the hardware, which also contributes to product quality, includes a Hipshot custom bridge and ultra-light tuners, ensuring that even this cost-effective model offers the player complete specifications and design.
Like its higher-end models, the Afterburner and ABZ, the FANNED-FRET SYSTEM, with the longest Lo-B strings set at 37 inches and the Hi-C string at 33.25 inches, optimizes the scale of each string to achieve a more consistent resonance in each position. You'll see the benefits of this in the creation of low-pitched sound particles and smooth pitch. The optimal tension for each string also supports smoother operation with both hands, making it an "indispensable" instrument once you've gotten used to the fingering techniques, such as slides.
This model delivers a powerful tone with the rich mid-low range and clear highs characteristic of alder, all delivered with a tight, tight sound image and crisp attack. Its high-quality sound, including the generous B string, delivers clear intonation and a clear sound image even at low tunings, captivating bassists across a wide range of genres. The basic model's reputation for high cost performance and practicality has made it a highly sought-after model, surpassing even the most sophisticated artist models.
