Description
Description
"BLACK SMOKER" is a handmade brand from BLACK CLOUD, a workshop in Nagano Prefecture, a mecca for musical instrument manufacturing where many brands are located. This brand has already gained popularity among many professional musicians for its sophisticated and high-quality sound, playability, and looks. It's a notable brand created by three people: CEO Kuroiwa, who has been involved in the design and manufacturing of numerous manufacturers and models, young builder Yanagisawa, who collaborates with him, and builder Itasaka, who has worked for a long-established Japanese brand.
The highly acclaimed and popular "TradMaster" series is a classic 5-string model with simple, standard specs that showcase the brand's true value, finished with a lacquer finish and aged finish for a vintage feel. Featuring a standard alder body, maple neck, and maple fingerboard, this bass is immediately recognizable for its carefully selected materials. The neck shape is slim for ease of playability, yet retains its core tone. The power of the original pickups, tuned specifically for this series, accurately reproduces the body's resonance while producing a full, rich sound. The smooth setup allows for effortless playing, making this bass a true testament to the instrument's craftsmanship. Its rich resonance, without excessive peaking, makes it versatile for any style or sound, depending on the settings and playing style. The stylish lacquer finish with an aged finish, aged parts modified for this series like the pickups, and vintage-style bridge all contribute greatly not only to the looks but also to a thicker, more imposing sound.
In terms of looks, the guitar is packed with attention to detail, including an aged finish with only a light weathering treatment and a matching surf green headstock that has a subtle yet retro feel. While boasting a vintage-like look, the playability and sound pressure are truly in keeping with the brand's pride, which is truly impressive. This is a wonderful bass that realizes the ideal of "what if a vintage low B5-string existed" at an extremely high level, and is one that we wholeheartedly recommend.
Due to the limited production numbers, this is a highly sought-after brand, and the number of units available is extremely limited. This bass is recognized by professionals for both its playability and sound, and its quality has already made a big name for itself in the scene.
