This is an immediately usable bass that has the appeal of creating a sound that grooves well in a variety of ensembles.
Its striking Lake Placid blue finish, ebony fingerboard with cell binding and block position markers, Badass bridge, and slightly different control section from other Moon JBs, make you think, "Oh, I see!" You're right. This model is based on the specifications of the model seen in footage of Randy Hope Taylor playing the Jeff Beck Group live with Jennifer Batten.
The solid alder body, paired with the MOON OXALIS pickups and Bartolini XTCT preamp, delivers a distinctive tone that combines crystal-clear clarity with a solid, thick midrange. The 60s pickup layout and ebony fingerboard deliver a bass tone that maintains midrange bounce and volume while offering smooth picking response and a well-defined sound, providing the control players demand. Whether you play with full force or tight slaps, the bass remains centered and comfortable. The 2-volume JB & 3-band EQ (front volume/bass EQ, rear volume/treble EQ, and middle EQ) and MASTER TONE (switchable to passive with a pull) also demonstrate the guitar's commitment to sound and practicality.
