Description
Description
The REX is a groundbreaking microphone preamp pedal that offers new possibilities for musicians performing and recording. It incorporates the most expressive GRACE Design microphone preamp into a heavy-duty pedal housing.
Think of horn players and vocalists who use microphones on stage, as well as harmonica, accordion, banjo and acoustic guitar, allowing players to fine-tune and perfect their microphone sound on stage or in the studio.
And with the FX loop, you can add wah to your saxophone, add chorus to your strings, or distort your vocals. You've got a Swiss Army knife of stompboxes at your feet, with incredible audio performance and unparalleled versatility. This premium preamp and EQ are sure to elevate your performance, putting total control right at your feet.
Of course, this unit can also be used for recording. One of its great features is that it allows you to insert a guitar pedal into the microphone sound at the appropriate level and impedance.
Whether you're performing live on stage or recording in the studio, GRACE design REX will make your sound shine.

◎Why a MIC PREAMP PEDAL?
Notice how the mic preamp could be turned into a floor pedal with an effects insert!
Vocalists can connect their favorite microphone to the Grace Design microphone preamp and connect their own effects to the FX loop to control reverb, delay, distorted vocal effects, etc. The era of vocalists controlling their pedal boards has arrived.
And for horn players looking to expand their sonic palette, here's a suggestion: How about connecting a flugelhorn to distortion, delay, and a wah pedal? Or a baritone saxophone with an octaver pedal!
◎On stage or in the studio.
Using REX on a live stage will enhance the expressiveness of your performance and further expand your creative possibilities, such as inserting effects.
But the REX's excellence continues even after you step off the stage. Equipped with GRACE design's highest-quality microphone preamps and a professional EQ section, REX can also be used as a studio microphone preamp for recording. The sound quality is full GRACE quality! It can deliver high-end sound for musicians recording at home or studio engineers who want to insert guitar pedals into the microphone preamp.
◎Creative Soul
GRACE design's microphone preamps are designed to fully convey the performer's artistry. Simply using the REX as a new microphone preamp will enhance the quality of your expression, but adding equalization or inserting unique effects will open up new possibilities for cool sonic adventures. Ignite your creative soul.
◎ Compatible with 9VDC power, ideal for pedal boards. The high-end GRACE design ROXi is powered by AC, but the compact REX is powered by the same 9VDC power supply as most guitar pedals/effects.
◎ Robust and functional product design
The REX is built in the same durable aluminum and steel construction as its larger predecessors (professional grade, designed to withstand the rigors of touring), delivering high-end studio quality without compromising portability.
◎Differences between ROXi and REXThe differences between the sibling models ROXi and REX are as follows.
Power supply: REX is 9V DC powered and designed to fit easily into pedal boards. ROXi is AC powered.
EQ: REX has a 2-band EQ, ROXi has a 3-band EQ (variable MID frequency)
Input: REX only has XLR microphone input, ROXi has XLR/phone combo type. Can also input instruments equipped with piezo/magnetic pickups (equivalent to ALiX).
Gain control: REX is continuously variable, ROXi is stepped gain (high quality sound design)
・ROXi's DI output can be switched between MIC LEVEL and LINE LEVEL. REX's DI output is fixed at MIC LEVEL. ・ROXi allows FX wet/dry mix. REX is series insert.
-ROXi offers two high-pass filter frequency options. -ROXi's BOOST footswitch can be changed to switch the FX loop on/off (in which case the BOOST knob functions as a GAIN trim).
-ROXi is equipped with a DC9V output that can be used to share power with other compact effects. -ROXi is equipped with a side bar that protects knob settings.
