Description
Description
The Sakura Guitar, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, uses actual domestic cherry wood and continues to evolve more beautifully under the policy of conveying the charm of cherry blossoms through both sound and appearance.
[Refreshing blue body color inspired by the blue sea]
The natural blue color has a cool impression that calms the viewer's mind, while the pearl paint, which changes color depending on the angle from which it is viewed, gives it an elegant presence.
The design is not too flashy, yet memorable, combining calmness and playfulness.
[Family swallows on the headboard]
The swallow, a bird deeply familiar to Japanese people, was chosen as the design motif. This bird has a connection to Headway, and the late master builder, Yasuo Momose, looked forward to the swallows that visited his workshop every year. With a design that focuses on feelings for his teacher and the elegant scenery of Japan, this guitar has a story that can be felt throughout the entire design.
[Cherry blossom inlay decorating the fingerboard]
Cherry blossom petal inlays beautifully decorate the fingerboard. The design is also designed with playability in mind, so that it feels natural when switching from a guitar with regular position marks.
[Cherry blossom-shaped pickguard]
The cherry blossom pickguard is made from purpleheart wood, a symbol of the cherry blossom guitar. It is proof that this is a Headway cherry blossom guitar, unchanged since the very first one was made.
[Yamazakura (Wild Cherry) Side & Back]
The back and sides are made of wild cherry wood (yamazakura) harvested in Japan. This wood has a very hard texture and a peak in the low midrange, while still producing the sweet sound that is characteristic of cherry wood.
[34 Semi-forward shifted bracing]
This guitar inherits the unique bracing developed by Headway master builder Yasuo Momose after studying the bracing of a vintage guitar made in 1934. The X cross position is a semi-forward shift closer to the sound hole, resulting in better bass response and a fuller tone than when new. The position is about 5mm closer to the bridge than the forward shift, which also takes into consideration the stability of the top.
