FAQ

Description

Endroll is the private effects brand of Takashi Yamaguchi, who has previously designed and released the "VOCU" and "VIZION" pedals as well as the "DIGI-ZO."

This is a 2-in-1 model that combines the brand's "MOD-1" and "HOD-1." While retaining the functionality of each, the MOD-1 is connected to the input and the HOD-1 to the output.
A wide range of sounds can be created, whether for solos, backing, or as a booster, by taking advantage of the fine adjustment range that is unique to this brand.

From the manufacturer's website:
--------------------------------------------------------------

Introducing the Geminy/Hod&Mod, a pedal that combines HalfWay OverDrive and Mostly OverDrive in a single body. With Mostly OverDrive on the input side and HalfWay OverDrive on the output side, we named it Geminy/Hod&Mod. (Geminy/Hod&Hod is also possible.)

The 2-in-1 design allows for a variety of uses, such as using the input voltage to down-voltage Mostly OverDrive for solos, the input voltage x2 to down-voltage Half-Way OverDrive for backing, or using it as a booster to push an amp.

The built-in circuit boards are the same as those used in the individual HalfWay OverDrive and Mostly OverDrive products, so the characteristics are the same, and the design controls and internal adjustment parts remain the same.

The Half Way OverDrive creates a negative voltage internally, using ground as the circuit reference, minimizing noise caused by bias voltage fluctuations. At the same time, the internal drive voltage is divided into two channels via a toggle switch, and the low voltage side can be adjusted with an internal semi-fixed resistor (Low Voltage Adjustment) to obtain the desired drive. Lo and Hi controls are provided, which can be used to adjust the tone curve.
The distortion channel of the Mostly OverDrive uses an internal fixed resistor for asymmetric distortion to control voltages less than the input voltage, allowing for low-voltage distortion. (Because it passes through the voltage control circuit, it will not be equal to the input voltage even at maximum.) The Lo control and Hi control (internal) are provided before the tone circuit, and can be used to adjust the tone curve.
The distortion channel has three modes: asymmetrical "Di" mode, "Nature" mode with open clip and power supply voltage upper and lower limit distortion, and symmetrical LED mode, which can be switched by the clip switch. The foot switches turn each effect on/off.

[External adjustment]
Drive Distortion adjustment (amplification rate)
Tone Adjustment of tone (moving the center frequency and opening up the high range)
Level output adjustment
Hi Control: Adjusts mid to high frequencies regardless of tone position (standard position is right) (Hod only)
*The Hi control is normally set to the Max position and used to reduce the sound, but if you turn down the tone and use the Hi control to increase it, it may be easier to use with the internal Tone Extent turned down a little.
Lo control: Adjusts mid to low frequencies regardless of tone position (left is standard position)
Clip (left): DI mode/Mode that uses a diode to create distortion. Compared to LED mode, it has a more compressed feel, lowers the level, and increases the gain.
Clip (center): Nature mode: This mode exceeds the power supply voltage range of the op-amp, producing distortion with the most solid, crisp sound.
Clip (left): LED mode/A mode that uses light-emitting diodes to create distortion. A sound with a sense of compression.
Voltage switch (Hod only)
Voltage switch (upper): +8.1v -7.6v at 9.0V input
Voltage switch (bottom): At 9.0V input, Min +2.5v to Max +8.1v, Min -2.1v to Max -7.6v (see Low Voltage Adjustment)
You can experience the effect in "Nature mode."

[Internal adjustment]
Tone Extent: Adjusts the Tone adjustment range. You can set the Tone range shown in the table. This function narrows the high and low frequency ranges using a semi-fixed resistor, so the mid-frequency characteristics remain unchanged.
Low Voltage Adjustment (Hod only): Adjusts the internal voltage with ground as the center of amplitude. When the voltage switch on the table is in the down position, the voltage adjusted by this semi-fixed resistor is effective.
*Semi-fixed resistor dial is approximately +5v -4.5v (9.0v input)
*The internal negative voltage is driven at a voltage approximately 0.6V lower than the positive voltage.
Down Voltage Adjustment (Mod only): Adjusts the internal voltage. The effect can be felt in "Nature mode."
*Set the semi-fixed resistor dial to the left at maximum to approximately 4.5V, and to the right at maximum to approximately 8.2V (when inputting 9.0V).
3-level mid-treble adjustment (right is standard position) (Mod only)
*The Hi control is normally set to the Max position and used to reduce the sound, but if you turn down the tone and use the Hi control to increase it, it may be easier to use with the internal Tone Extent turned down a little.

"specification"
Input: 1 (input impedance approx. 500kΩ)
Output: 1 (output impedance approx. 1kΩ or more)
Current consumption: 13mA (DC9V)
Input voltage: DC9V to maximum DC15V (center negative)
Dimensions: 76mm (width) x 113mm (depth) x 50mm (height)
Weight: approx. 250g
Internal battery: 006P (The maximum rated input of the power supply IC is 16V, so please be careful when inputting 15V.)

*Power supply from the internal battery or a regulated power supply is recommended. If you connect an AC adapter directly, power supply noise may be picked up by the signal.
*When you switch the voltage switch, a popping sound may occur due to voltage fluctuations, but this is not a malfunction. Please set the level to the minimum before switching.
