In 2021, it was released under the name "JAZZ" from a series billed as traditional.
Since then, it has captivated countless jazz drummers with its literal sound and versatility.
-Jazz Ride-
The thin, dark, and well-balanced trash feel is excellent.
We can certainly accommodate everything from the good old style to a modern approach.
There is no other ride cymbal that we can confidently recommend to both players who have loved jazz for a long time and those who are just starting out in jazz.
As part of our plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Ikebe Musical Instruments,
Traditional Jazz Ride approached Agop about making a custom size, 20.5 inches, that was not in their lineup, and they happily agreed.
Please enjoy this 0.5 inch of gratitude, which is filled with the history, brilliance, and thoughts of Ikebe Musical Instruments and Istanbul Agop.
~Why 20.5 inches?~
Istanbul Agop has had a turbulent history.
A major turning point came in 1982, when the company exhibited at the NAMM Show, where it met legendary drummer Mel Lewis.
It is a famous anecdote that when Mel Lewis heard the sound of the cymbals at that time, he said, "They're back!"
He became the manufacturer's first ever endorser, and the signature ride cymbal he later produced featured the 20.5-inch lineup.
Even today, the Mel Lewis model cymbals are sold as Agop's signature series.
The size used for the ride cymbal released in 2005 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Istanbul Agop's founding was, as expected, 20.5 inches.
The 20.5 size, which symbolizes Istanbul Agop and is very meaningful, has been added to the latest standard "Jazz Ride."
As we celebrate our 50th anniversary at Ikebe Musical Instruments, we would like to express our gratitude to our customers for their support over the years by presenting a 0.5 inch guitar.

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
