Description

[Sales agency (consignment of used goods)]

We have a 90's Factor bass in stock in good condition.

Founder Philip Kubicki began his career as a luthier at Fender in 1964 under Roger Rossmeisl. During his time in the R&D department, he is known for his involvement in the development of George Harrison's rosewood Telecaster and Jimi Hendrix's final Stratocaster, the Thinline Telecaster. He later left Fender to launch "Philip Kubicki Technology" in 1978. Starting out by manufacturing and selling replacement necks and bodies, he introduced the revolutionary "Factor" bass in 1985.

Featuring a headless design and a sturdy neck constructed from more than 20 pieces of multi-layer maple laminate, this instrument has a very unique and distinctive appearance, but its ergonomic design ensures that it is well-balanced when held and easy to play, making it an instrument that has been carefully designed to be practical as an instrument rather than being limited to ideas.

This "Ex Factor" model features a unique fingerboard design similar to that found on a double bass, with the E string fingerboard extending beyond the 0 fret.By releasing the clasp arm holding the E string, two more frets are added, expanding the range all the way to the "D" note.

The sturdy, original-design tuners with large gears embedded in the end of the body allowed for the use of standard bass strings, eliminating the need for special double-ball-end strings. This gave players great freedom, and as a headless bass at the time, Steinberger was the only choice, and it was a much-welcomed choice. With exposure from John Taylor and Stu Hamm, it was so popular that production could not keep up at one point.

The original 18V circuit features two EQs for treble and bass, plus a six-position rotary switch that allows you to set your tone with three passive modes, two active modes, and a standby (mute) preset.

Considering an instrument made nearly 30 years ago, it is in fairly good condition. The glossy black body, which is prone to scratches, has numerous scuffs, but no noticeable damage such as peeling paint or large dents. There is some paint chipping and scratches on the back of the neck, but these are minor and do not interfere with playing.

There is no noticeable wear on the frets, the neck is in good condition, the truss rod works well, and the electrical and hardware components are all functional. With occasional maintenance, you can be sure that you will be able to enjoy using this guitar for many years to come.

Old FACTOR has been highly praised again in recent years.
Don't miss out on this great used item in good condition!
