What do famous top musicians have in common? It's the use of the legendary Echoplex. Originally, the Echoplex was a device used to create a delay effect, but it was also used as a preamp, with the goal of thickening and tightening the sound simply by passing it through. However, its size and maintenance issues made it a popular choice. The Xotic EP-Booster was created to easily obtain this warm, full-bodied preamp sound. It uses top-quality parts and is designed to be durable enough for professional players. It's an even smaller version of a traditional compact effect, addressing the trend toward slimmer equipment. The internal dip switch allows you to customize the EQ characteristics. The simple one-knob design ensures instant sound. It can be powered by an internal 9-volt battery or an external power supply from 9 to 18 volts, providing ample headroom for a wide range of instruments. Experience the magic of yesteryear.
The EP-Booster uses a discrete design, employing FETs and transistors without ICs. The 20dB boost function's low-impedance output makes it less susceptible to external noise and prevents degradation of sound quality due to cable interference. The natural, expansive sound quality, along with the natural compression you get when turning up the amplifier volume, fully brings out the best in your instrument without any harshness, even at high volumes. The built-in DIP switch allows you to select two boost frequencies and high-frequency modes.
