A SG, a reproduction of the early '61 model, has arrived in our recommended used inventory!
Gibson Custom Shop 1961 Les Paul SG Standard Reissue VOS! Made in 2020.
This pen boasts a striking presence with its realistic Cherry Red color!
Established in 1984, the Gibson Custom Shop was created to produce the ultimate electric guitars and basses through long-cultivated high-level manufacturing techniques, an insatiable spirit of inquiry, and carefully selected materials. Even today, the Custom Shop lineup, crafted using traditional handcrafting methods and thoroughly researched vintage knowledge, boasts a superb level of craftsmanship that is unmatched by others, and will become the ultimate cherished instrument that endlessly ignites the inspiration within the player.
Production of the Les Paul model ended in 1960, and a complete model change to the SG was implemented starting in 1961.
This product, a reproduction of the original release, is evident even from the "Les Paul" logo on the truss rod cover.
The SG model, which went on sale in 1961, was initially created as a redesigned Les Paul model. Therefore, even though it was changed to the SG shape, the truss rod cover still bore the "Les Paul" inscription. After Gibson's contract with Mr. Les Paul ended in late 1963, the name was officially changed to "SG," and since then, while undergoing minor changes, it has continued to reign as an iconic Gibson model alongside the Les Paul!
The SG's thin and lightweight body, a stark contrast to the Les Paul, and its improved playability thanks to the double cutaway are unique advantages. The dark aniline-dyed cherry color and VOS finish give this guitar a dignified presence.
This particular guitar is fitted with Single Line, Single Ring tuning pegs.
The pickups are the Custom Shop's standard Custombucker Alnico III, which are exceptional pickups with their distinctive midrange, quick response, and bite.
The SG model is by no means a particularly versatile guitar, but if you find the right one for you, it will become a beloved companion for many years to come! I, Mukai, also have a personal attachment to this model!
Its lightweight body will allow you to perform graceful steps on stage as if you were soaring through the sky! It's also a perfect match for the Japanese physique! And the sound that comes from its thin body, full of stickiness and sharpness, gives you an emotional tone that's perfect for rock and blues! While a Les Paul might be too thick and clash with vocals, the SG offers just the right range that's easy to use in a band ensemble!
We've just received a recommended used item! It's a 2020 model.
While there are some minor scratches, pick scratches on the pickguard, and tarnishing on the parts, overall this guitar is in fairly good condition with minimal signs of use. None of these affect playability. We have performed a full maintenance and cleaning at our shop, so it is ready to use immediately.
The frets are in good working order and have almost all of their life remaining. The nut is also in good working order and the truss rod can be adjusted normally.
The electrical system has also been fully checked, so there are no problems with its operation.
The PAF (Patent Applied For) sticker on the back of the pickup is presumably an aftermarket addition. There are no signs of desoldering, so we believe it is the original Custombucker Alnico III.
The weight is approximately 2.89 kg. It's lightweight and has a well-balanced design that makes it easy to use.
The only accessories included are the original hard case and key.
A certificate of authenticity is not included.
Experience the authentic Solid Guitar sound from the Gibson Custom Shop.
Don't miss this opportunity!
