■Get into the world of saxophone more easily

A fusion of acoustic and digital technologies and design. Because it's digital, volume can be adjusted freely. No longer bound by location.

■This single instrument offers an amazing 56 saxophone tones.

With a total of 56 tones—soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone—you can control them simply by blowing into it. From the very first note, you can enjoy the diverse expressions of the saxophone.

*In addition, there are 33 other types of orchestral, percussion, and synthesizer sounds, for a total of 89 sounds that can be played. (The previous model, YDS-120, had a total of 73 sounds.)

■Music as you please

With keys designed to match acoustic instruments, a breath sensor for expression, analog controllers, and your own breath, use it all to express yourself fully.

■ Volume adjustment

This instrument retains the saxophone's signature tone while achieving quiet operation. With 15 levels of volume control and headphone connectivity, you can enjoy playing without worrying about the volume.

■Sound System

A breath sensor detects the air blown into the mouthpiece, a digital sound source system drives a speaker, and the sound and vibrations are transmitted to a simple horn-type acoustic device.

■ Mouthpiece

Simply blowing into the dedicated mouthpiece allows you to produce sound without worrying about your embouchure. The mouthpiece is removable for easy cleaning.

■Breath sensor

By sensing the strength (pressure) of your breath with a breath sensor, you can not only change the volume of the sound but also alter the tone of the sound while playing.

■ Tone

It includes 56 built-in tones to cover various genres and styles of soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones. In addition, it can play a total of 89 tones, including electronic instruments, shakuhachi, and flute.

*The tone list is included in the instruction manual.

■Key Layout

Based on Yamaha's acoustic saxophone design, it offers smooth operation. Fingering can also be changed using a dedicated app.

■ Whole tone sampling

We sampled every single note of a Yamaha acoustic saxophone in collaboration with professional musicians. Enjoy a natural and seamless playing experience.

■External connection terminals

It features an Aux in terminal that allows you to connect other devices such as smartphones. You can jam along with external sound sources* or play together as if you were in an ensemble.

* The sound must be output from the headphone jack.

■ Dedicated app YDS Mail

A dedicated app is available to enhance the playability of the digital saxophone and further expand the possibilities of sound creation, including instrument settings and tone editing. Even detailed settings that cannot be made on the instrument itself can be easily adjusted using the app screen.

*To use the YDS Controller with the YDS-120, you will need a USB adapter and USB cable compatible with your smart device. Install the YDS Controller on your smart device. Connect the unit and your smart device via USB.

*For iPhones, the power supply from the smart device may not be sufficient, so we recommend using a power adapter.

*Please check with your device manufacturer to see if your Android device supports "USB MIDI".
