Description

The Flying V has been loved by guitarists around the world since its debut in 1958. Even if you're not familiar with guitars, you've probably seen it at least once, and its rock-inspired body shape is one of its charms.

This is a late-model mahogany-bodied Flying V made in the Nashville factory, dating back to 1975. It features a wide pickguard, a flatter headstock (commonly known as a rice scoop headstock), and an ABR-1 bridge, all of which are later specifications, as well as a newer non-volute design, making it a transitional guitar.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.3 kg. The body is made of mahogany. The familiar Flying V-shaped, sharp body is finished in Polaris White, which has aged to an atmospheric yellow. Weather checking, sticker marks on the top of the body, stand marks on the back of the body, dents and other scratches, and fading of parts are evident, giving it the wonderful feel of a vintage instrument. The pickup covers have been removed and pickup rings have been added. The bridge, including the thumb nut, has been replaced with a Historic ABR-1, and a strap pin has been added inside the V-shape.

【neck】
The neck is made of mahogany. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. The headstock is white, just like the body. There is some weather checking, discoloration due to age, and paint peeling on the back of the neck due to use, but like the body, it is in good condition. The original tuners have been replaced with Schaller M6-style tuners. There is not much variation in winding and they function well. The nut has been replaced at our shop, and the frets have been replaced once before. Although they are low overall, playability is good. The nut width is 43.0mm. The neck shape is wide and relatively clean.

[Electrical system]
The controls are a 3-way pickup selector, neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, and master tone. Two volume pots have been replaced, but the tone pot and capacitor remain in their original condition. The pickups are new PAF (Tim Shaw Humbucker) pickups, although the covers have been removed. Their smooth, supple mids are a perfect match for rock-driven settings.
