J.Michael Alto Horn AH-600
The alto horn is ideal for British brass bands.It is a member of the saxhorn family of instruments invented by Adolphe Sax and plays the alto range.
In order to produce a richer tone, the bore of the tube is made wider and the overall design is large and British style.
Unlike student model alto horns, whose bore is closer to that of a trumpet or cornet, the alto horn allows for a clearer tone difference with trumpets and cornets when played in an ensemble.
It is perfect not only for elementary school brass bands, but also for those looking to try their hand at British-style brass bands.
●FeaturesAn alto horn developed not only for beginners but also for those taking on the challenge of playing in a British brass band.
British-style design is adopted in pursuit of a richer tone.
The piston is made of highly durable stainless steel, ensuring stable piston action.
●Material: While the main parts, including the bell, are made of brass, the inner tube of the slide-out tube is made of nickel silver, which provides a moderate amount of resistance.
These materials, combined with British-style design, produce a mellow yet rich sound.
●Finish: Clear lacquer finish that brings out the best in brass instruments.
The sound has a good attack and a clear tone.
●The outer tube of the slide is made of brass and the inner tube is made of nickel silver, which adds a European mellowness to the bright and rich overtones.
