Description
The Telecaster is one of Fender's most iconic guitars, and in the late 1960s, various variations were created as demand for different sounds became more diverse. The Telecaster Custom, featuring a humbucking/single-coil pickup combination, was released in 1972 and has since become a favorite model among many guitarists.
This time we have a black alder body with a rosewood fingerboard, shipped around 1974. The rosewood fingerboard Telecaster customs tend to be a bit scarce.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.3 kg. The body is made of alder. This stylish guitar comes in a black color, which was a standard color for this period but not very common. While the thick skin finish, which uses a poly base, exhibits weathering, dents with peeling paint, belt buckle marks, and tarnish on the metal parts, it is in excellent condition, typical of a vintage instrument.
【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. There are some small dents around the headstock and some weathering, but the guitar is in relatively good condition. The tuners are Fender "F-Key" tuners. While there is some variation in the winding tightness, they function well. There is some wear, especially on the low frets, but there are no problems such as excessive choking. The headstock is 14.7mm thick. The nut width is 41.4mm. The neck has a relatively clean shape.
[Electrical system]
The controls are a 3-way pickup selector, 2 volumes, and 2 tones. The pickups are a Fender humbucking pickup in the neck position and a Telecaster single-coil in the bridge position, a familiar combination for this model. This guitar offers a clear, lustrous sound in the neck position and a lively, crisp sound in the bridge position, allowing you to enjoy the different character of the guitar.
