FAQ

Description

The Stratocaster is Fender's signature model, beloved by guitarists around the world since its release in 1954. When it comes to electric guitars, this is the shape that comes to mind for many people.

This guitar, shipped around 1980, is a headstock serial number. While non-tremolo hardtail models are rare, this distinctive "Antigua" colorway was first used in the Coronado series in the 1960s and was produced in limited quantities on key models in the late 1970s. It's a popular colorway that has been produced in limited quantities several times since then. This guitar is typical of Fender from the late CBS era through the early 1980s, and its design philosophy of emphasizing practicality and sound stability is evident throughout.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.25 kg. The body is made of ash. The non-tremolo through-the-body design is a notable feature that significantly influences the instrument's sound character. The unique Antigua color, with its distinctive yellow gradation, is also applied to the pickguard, indicating its special specifications. The paint used during this period was the "Fender Thick-Skin High-Gloss" finish, which uses a polyester base. While there is weather checking on the body and pickguard, minor dents, and tarnish on the metal parts, the instrument is in relatively good condition considering its age. It features a direct sound that sets it apart from tremolo-equipped Stratocasters.

【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of one-piece maple. There's some paint chipping around the headstock and sides of the fingerboard, minor dents, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but like the body, it's in relatively good condition. The tuners are Fender F keys, and they function well with little variation in winding. The nut has been replaced once, and while the frets show some wear, playability is good. The headstock thickness is 15.6mm. The nut width is 41.0mm. The neck has a relatively sturdy shape.

[Electrical system]
The controls are classic Stratocaster-style: 5-way pickup selector, master volume, neck (front) position tone, and center position tone. The pickups are original gray bobbins, with a high-output "X-1" in the bridge position. The selector switch has been replaced, but the other controls, including the pickup, remain in their original condition. Clean notes offer a crisp, bright sound with rich sustain, while chopping and arpeggios bring each note to the forefront. The drive sound, powered by the bridge X-1 pickup, offers a thickness and impact reminiscent of rock and fusion from the late 1970s and early 1980s. This guitar combines the delicacy of a vintage Stratocaster with the practical power of the era.
