Description

Brand new, slightly damaged item at a special price!!

The "J Select Series" is a Japan-exclusive model created in collaboration with Sir Guitar! This Standard Plus rear-route model features outstanding playability and beautiful grain.

Suhr Guitars has earned the trust of top professionals not only for its electric guitars but also for its amplifiers and replacement pickups, and has established a reputation as a high-end brand. The brand enjoys worldwide popularity among both professionals and amateurs, and continues to receive overwhelming support from top artists who do a lot of studio work.

The masterpiece we are introducing this time is the "Standard Plus," which is slightly smaller than the full-size model and has an easy-to-handle shape.
This model features a basswood body and flame maple construction, which John Suhr describes as the Holy Grail of Tone, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard, resulting in a tight, clear, and well-balanced sound.
The neck is made of roasted maple for added rigidity and a clearer sound. The "Even C Slim" shape features a satin finish for a smooth feel and excellent grip, perfect for technical playing. The frets are stainless steel/heavy, producing a tight, responsive sound.

The pickups are in an "HSH" layout, with a combination of "SSV (Neck)," "V60LP (Middle)," and "SSH+ (Bridge)" from the neck side. This is a popular setup often used in the Suhr Guitars custom lineup, with the "SSV" eliminating unnecessary compression and producing a wide, crisp sound, the "V60LP" providing the wide, brilliant sound range typical of vintage single coils, and the "SSH+" outputting a thick, clear sound with smooth mids, resulting in an excellent sound balance.
It also features the "SSCII circuit," JST's unique passive 60-cycle hum noise reduction system, which eliminates noise without using batteries and without changing the tone.

The bridge uses the "WVS 130 Locking Tremolo", jointly developed by Pete Thorn and Wilkinson.
This uses a set screw at the top of each saddle to lock the strings in place. Its tuning stability is comparable to a double-locking system, but the tone and feel are similar to a non-locking two-post bridge. String height and octave adjustments are easy and don't require cutting the ball ends of the strings.
Additionally, when changing the strings, simply thread them through the steel block as usual and lock the set screw, making the process very easy.

The fingerboard features a "compound radius" that flattens from 10 inches to 14 inches from the nut to the last fret, providing excellent playability on the higher frets! The frets are made of "stainless steel/heavy" material, minimizing fret wear and maintaining excellent precision while producing a tight sound. The pegs feature Sur's original locking tuners, allowing for instant response to sudden problems. Sur's unique commitment to maximum convenience as a tool is truly impressive!

This guitar combines Japan-exclusive specs with undeniable USA quality! With a wide range of potential, it truly lives up to its high-end name.
