Description

The Stratocaster is Fender's signature model, beloved by guitarists around the world since its release in 1954. When it comes to electric guitars, this is the shape that comes to mind for many people.

This time, we have a large-head Stratocaster shipped in 1970. Early CBS logo models, featuring the large "With Synchronized Tremolo" logo, are known for their high market value and popularity. While the neck date is difficult to read, we believe it was shipped in 1970 based on the other parts dates and serial number.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.4 kg. The body is made of alder. The sophisticated three-tone sunburst color really stands out. The three-tone reddish hue remains prominently on the back. The characteristic paint chipping, typical of the Thick Skin Finish, which uses a polyester undercoat, adds to the instrument's appeal. The back has some paint chipping from the belt buckle, weather checking, dents, and discoloration and dullness on the metal and plastic parts, giving it a wonderful appearance. The back panel has been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. It's nice to see the decal logo, which tends to wear off over time as the paint fades, still intact. The tuners are Fender F-keys, and while there seems to be some variation in the manufacturing date, they function perfectly. The frets and nut were replaced at our shop, and playability is excellent. The headstock is 16.0mm thick. The nut width is 40.6mm. While not particularly thick, the neck shape is solid. As you can see, this magnificent fingerboard has attracted attention overseas, and its connection to the "SPECIAL" stamp on the neck pocket has been a hot topic.

[Electrical system]
The controls are classic Stratocaster-style: 5-way pickup selector (replacement), master volume, neck (front) position tone, and center position tone. Consumable parts such as the volume pot, string ground wire, 5-way selector switch, and output jack and lead wire have been proactively replaced. The current wiring allows for tone control even when the bridge pickup is selected. The pickups retain their original gray bobbins. Compared to the all-lacquer finish model, the natural tone is tighter with slightly less overtones, but the plug-in sound offers a wide range of tones, from the rich treble and thickness of the bridge position to the rich, warm tone of the neck position.
