This collaboration model, which was released in limited quantities in 2017, has been so well received that a second edition is now available.
This is a special snare drum made with a shell from the Italian handmade brand DrumArt, assembled at Pearl Japan's custom workshop, D-Flavor.
-Drum Art 100% Made in Italy Shell-
Drum Art is a group of Italian artisans who handcraft professional snare drums and drumsticks.
The instruments are manufactured in Italy by craftsmen who are also drummers and love music, and are made from carefully selected, top-quality wood.
To create a shell that balances sound and beauty, the wood is carefully assembled over a period of 4 to 10 years, combining the most compatible pieces.
Perfectly welded with high-quality violin-making glue specially formulated for each wood species,
The original design of the bearing edge, careful lathing on the exterior, polishing, and waterproofing are all part of the artistic solid body.
-Rosewood-
Rosewood, which is used for marimba plates and guitar fingerboards, is a very hard material that is characterized by a warm, rich sound with a strong attack.
After many years of maturing and thorough drying, high-quality, stable parts are selected according to strict selection criteria and processed into extra-thick blocks.
These are connected with pegs made of the same material, resulting in a shell that is extremely round and strong, with no distortion.It is solid and heavy, and produces overwhelming sound pressure and volume.
To further bring out the unique sound of each material, the finish is as thin as possible and the parts used contribute to an open sound.
In addition to its incredibly sensitive response, it produces a bright tone with good definition even at fortissimo.
