Description

Since its introduction in 1958, the ES-335TD has reigned as a semi-acoustic guitar representative not only for Gibson but also for other brands. This model boasts an appealing, easy-to-use sound that can be used for a wide range of applications.

Sunburst colors were shipped in large numbers during this period, indicating their popularity. The ES-335 with a pickup coil tap switch appeared in the late 1970s.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.8 kg. The body is made of semi-hollow maple. Its two-tone gradation tobacco sunburst finish creates a sophisticated look. It features the original stop tailpiece and coil tap switch. There is some weathering, a few belt buckle marks on the back of the body, dents, aging of the pickup ring, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but the paint is still shiny and in relatively good condition.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. There is some weather checking, scuffs on the headstock, and paint chipping on the back of the neck due to use, but like the body, it is in relatively good condition. The original Kluson Deluxe tuners have been replaced with Grover 102 tuners. There is some variation in the winding tightness, but they function well. The frets and nut appear to have been replaced once, and there is little wear, so playability is good. The nut width is 43.0mm. The neck shape is relatively solid.

[Electrical system]
The controls are classic ES-335 style with the addition of a coil tap switch: a 2-way pickup coil tap switch, a 3-way pickup selector, two volumes, and two tones. Paired with the four-conductor "Super Humbucker," it allows for two modes: single-coil and humbucking. The body has a rich resonance, making single-coil mode convenient, but humbucking mode also offers a clear, consistent tone in both the front and rear positions.
