Description

// Selected by Seiichi Nakamura //
He had been fascinated by jazz since his childhood, and soon after picking up the saxophone, he decided to become a jazz musician. While studying at the Kunitachi College of Music, he made his debut in 1969 as the founding saxophonist of the Yamashita Yosuke Trio, and pursued free jazz. After leaving the band, he went to the United States in 1978 to study under George Coleman.
After returning to Japan, he appeared on the TV show "Tonight is the Best!" featuring Tamori, and through a wide range of jazz genres, saxophone, and clarinet, he has blazed through the passionate, free, diverse, and humane world of Showa-era Japan, and remains a true jazzman to this day.
He currently performs jazz in a wide range of styles and with various units, while also working hard to train the next generation of musicians as a professor emeritus at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

// SELMER Tenor Sax AXOS //
[A new dimension created by rich tone and natural response]
The Axos tenor saxophone is developed and manufactured in our Mantes-la-Ville factory.
The manufacturing process reflects the same high level of care and technical skill of the craftsmen that has been poured into the many saxophones that SELMER Paris has released to the world.
Positioned as an entry-level model for professional saxophones, the Axos possesses the qualities common to all Selmer saxophones: flexibility, precision, and sustain.
The ease of playing and rich tone make this the ideal instrument for mastering the tenor saxophone, regardless of performance level. The streamlined neck attachment and newly developed pads further enhance this feeling.
Flexible, comfortable, and durable, the ergonomic keys feel instantly and naturally in your hand.
The warm lacquer color and the intricate engraving on the body are hallmarks of this new tenor saxophone.

We are an authorized dealer of Selmer saxophones! We will always write our store name on the warranty card.
