Description
Description
The concept behind SS-47 is the elimination of individuality. Its goal is to create items that maximize the characteristics of cables and connectors. SS-47, a solder specifically for audio equipment, uses high-purity 4N (99.993% or higher) tin, with impurities removed to the utmost. To improve conductivity, pure silver is generously incorporated, at an unprecedented 4.7%. Furthermore, to create a eutectic solder, 1.7% copper, which has the second highest conductivity of any metal after silver, is added.
Of course, we also gave careful consideration to the flux (resin). To prevent surface corrosion, we kept the residual chlorine below 0.12%. Moreover, the flux used in SS-47 is a special compound that provides an 83% spreading rate, demonstrating amazing workability.
These compounding ratios were not determined solely based on numerical data and workability, but rather, as an audio solder, sound quality was given top priority. After numerous hearing tests on prototype models with various compounding ratios, we were able to eliminate individual differences, and finally completed SS-47, the solder specifically for audio equipment. SS-47 is the ultimate tool for maximizing the performance of the materials used and achieving stress-free craftsmanship.
Material and composition: Standard solder has a tin purity of around 99.9% (3N) due to cost considerations. SS-47 uses even higher purity tin, eliminating impurities to the utmost extent, at over 99.993% (4N). Silver and copper are also blended to improve conductivity and prevent solder erosion.
Moreover, while the silver content of ordinary alloy solder is 3-3.5%, SS-47 contains a generous 4.7%. Furthermore, it contains 1.7% copper, which has the second highest conductivity among metals after silver. This composition ratio dramatically improves conductivity, successfully setting the eutectic point at 217°C.
●Pursuing ease of use with an 83% spread rate. With a 40W soldering iron, solder penetrates in just a few seconds. It also cools quickly at its eutectic point of 217°C, completing the job without damaging the surrounding material. What's more, regardless of skill level, you'll be amazed at the overwhelming ease of use and the beautiful finish.
Electrical signals flow along the surface of a material. This is called the skin effect, and is particularly noticeable in the high frequency band. SS-47 boasts the greatest advantage of eutectic solder: a smooth surface that does not interfere with signal characteristics. A smooth surface means no signal disturbance and minimized distortion.
