Description
Description
KRYNA's sound-absorbing material "Watayuki" can now be installed in the corners of your room, making it easier than ever to combat standing waves in a stylish way.
If you're unsure about room tuning, try this first. He who masters corners will master room tuning. Experience the clear sound field that unfolds before your eyes.
●To suppress standing waves, it is necessary to take measures to prevent reflections at corners. In a typical listening environment, standing waves occur between parallel walls or between the floor and ceiling.
Until now, KRYNA has treated the edges of walls by combining sound-absorbing material (Watayuki) and diffusion material (Azteca).
In addition, in three-sided corners formed by walls and ceilings, a path is created in which reflected sound returns in a straight line, just like in parallel walls, so standing waves can become a problem. We have previously addressed this issue by combining multiple Watayuki units, but we have now developed CORNER Watayuki to process corners more easily and neatly.
Even in the showroom's listening room (an ordinary 6-tatami room with standard plasterboard walls) there is an echo that sounds like a bathroom when there are not many objects in it, but by eliminating the reflections from the corners of the room, the bathroom-like echo is eliminated, resulting in a surprisingly natural sound, and you can experience how much easier it is to listen to music.
When used in combination with standing wave treatment on the walls, the HGS (holographic sound) space evolves to an even vaster scale.
● Aiming for an ideal space learned from the image of a church Hemispherical domes and cylindrical vaults, as shown in the photograph, are structures that have long been used in churches and other places with long reverberation times.
Generally, when the reverberation is long, echoes overlap with people's voices, making them difficult to hear, but it is said that the hemispherical dome and cylindrical vault diffuse the reflections, allowing them to reach a wider area of the audience.
The reason for this is that sound rays that pass through the center of a sphere or cylinder are incident at a right angle to the cylindrical or spherical surface and return through the center, but sound rays that pass anywhere else are reflected in various directions depending on the angle of incidence, making it easy for them to become diffused.
Sound that enters a cylinder or sphere is reflected and diffused in various directions, making it less likely that standing waves will occur.
Domes and vaults are thought to be effective in ordinary homes, but introducing them into ordinary living rooms and rooms is a high hurdle. Also, in structures such as Japanese houses where sound escapes through sliding doors and shoji screens, although there is little reflection, standing waves between parallel walls or floors and ceilings can often become a problem, making them difficult to deal with. At present, measures such as "diffusing the sound" and "absorbing sound from surfaces with a lot of reflection" are considered to be the best solutions.
