★L/i50 cable identity

The L/i50 cable has a unique identity: a 4-core star-quad. The OCB-1 EX II uses the new L/i50 OFC II cable, which follows this universal identity.

◎Features ・The star-quad structure, which twists together four core wires, has remained unchanged since the release of the L/i series. By twisting two of the diagonal wires together, radiated noise generated by the cable is cancelled out, reducing unwanted noise.
- Flame-resistant polyolefin is used for the insulator and sheath.
The PVC coating on the sheath not only helps block external noise, but also protects the cable from breakage due to unexpected accidents such as being stepped on. This cable satisfies the two important pillars of sound and safety.
- The conductor configuration remains the same as the previous model, 175 strands/0.12mm, achieving both easy cable handling and soft sound.

While maintaining the basic four-core star-quad structure, the conductors are made of pure Japanese C1011 OFC (domestic first-class OFC). This audio-specific conductor delivers delicate musical expression.
- An earth wire has been added to support three-pole audio equipment with an earth.
The color of the outlet and the exterior sleeve make it suitable for use in modern interiors and satisfy the desire to own it. In addition, the vibration-damping effect of the exterior sleeve improves the S/N ratio, further enhancing musical expression.

●Luxurious use of pure Japanese silver wire for internal wiring The internal wiring connecting the outlets is luxuriously made with 2.0mm pure Japanese silver wire. This is the first Oyaide product to feature an ARMORED series power plug. Since its release, the ARMORED series AP-037 has boasted the highest level of robustness in power plug connectors, and has been modified with a color exclusive to the OCB-1 EXs II. This is the first Oyaide product to feature this ARMORED series power plug. The blades are made of the same phosphor bronze material as the outlets, with a thick silver-rhodium plating, and the mechanical grounding mechanism that secures the main body provides thorough vibration damping, resulting in flawless music.

Highly rigid outlet box made of PBT-GF30 material
The Oyaide Outlet Box is the heart of sound. The housing is made of PBT-GF30, a highly rigid engineering plastic made from polybutylene terephthalate (TPA) with 30% GF (glass fiber) added. PBT resin is a polyester resin obtained by polycondensation of terephthalic acid (TPA) and 1,4-butanediol (1,4-BG). It is a crystalline engineering plastic with excellent moldability, electrical properties, flame retardancy, chemical resistance, heat aging resistance, weather resistance, and colorability. The addition of glass fiber (GF) reinforces this material, resulting in tensile strength and Charpy impact strength more than double that of conventional materials, and a DTUL (Deflection Temperature Under Load) of 200°C, more than three times that of non-GF materials (50-85°C), providing superior dimensional stability at high temperatures. This high rigidity suppresses unwanted noise from the outlet box, which can cause sound distortion and blurring.
The monocoque construction allows the power outlet to be secured with four posts extending from the base, transmitting vibrations directly to the chassis' base. The unit is 4mm thick, more than 1.4 times thicker than standard PVC products (2.8mm thick). Furthermore, carbon fiber is added to the material to minimize interference between peripheral devices, and 13mm-diameter feet are added to the base to reduce the contact area between the unit and the floor, minimizing resonance. These combined elements of material and structure result in reduced distortion and a high S/N ratio, two hallmarks of the OCB-1 series.
