Description

What is HEISERMAN AUDIO?

Founded in 2013, we are the only US-based large diaphragm microphone capsule manufacturer.

After spending time supplying OEM capsules, the company hired Nashville microphone specialist Dave Wheeler and began developing high-quality microphone products, designing and manufacturing everything from capsules to microphone bodies in-house.

[Product Features]

Heiserman Audio has cracked the code when it comes to creating authentic reproductions. From the moment I put on headphones and started playing acoustic guitar in front of the H251, it was clear that this microphone has a beautiful sound. The top end is airy, clear, and free of harshness, while the low end feels perfectly balanced. Recording vocals again reveals a beautiful top end and a wonderful, full-bodied bottom end with a gorgeous proximity effect. Singing with this microphone is truly moving, and the resulting vocal quality is simply superb. In a blind A/B test with Dolly Parton's beautiful vintage 251E, singer Lela loved the H251, and after bringing it back to my own setup, I chose the H251 in my own blind test and used it in the mix. After extensive comparison with the original Telefunken ELA M 251E, I can confidently say the H251 is a world-class microphone that stands shoulder to shoulder with the vintage classic it recreates. - Anthony Gravino, TapeOP Magazine

The HEISERMAN H251 is a meticulously engineered, 1:1 reproduction of this historic classic. It features the same brass and acrylic chamber backplate as the original 251, a fourth-generation HEISERMAN HK12 capsule made from 6µm gold-sputtered DuPont Mylar®, and an identical internal design, including a newly manufactured T14/1 transformer based on the 1961 vintage unit, acrylic circuit boards, the same rotary pattern switch as the original, and a full acrylic head assembly including a CK12 saddle with felt and foam cushions. Circuit components include Vishay and Taqman Rex resistors, NOS polystyrene and PIO capacitors, and wet tantalum output capacitors faithful to the original design. The microphone is finished in the same Siemens Gray automotive paint finish as the original. All hardware, including the HK12 capsule, is hand-machined by two master machinists in North Carolina and meticulously tuned for optimal response.

All Heiserman H251 microphone systems come with a custom-built, bulletproof PSU and a 7.5m Sommer tube microphone cable with 251-style connectors, housed in a rugged flight case. This "E" version of the H251 is equipped with a premium, high-grade TAD 6072 vacuum tube.
