★Bring the power of the 88R console to your home studio. Get the sound of the legendary 88R console in a rack. The 8801 is a complete channel strip from the legendary 88R console, housed in a 1U 19-inch rack unit.
Entirely hand-built and hand-wired by Neve, this groundbreaking channel strip delivers a front end with all the quality and versatility that the Neve name has become synonymous with.
The 8801 signal path comprises a very high quality Neve microphone preamp, high-pass/low-pass filters, four bands of musical equalization, a compressor, a gate, a dynamics sidechain and an insert point. The order of the signal path can be easily changed to suit the producer's requirements.
The filter and equalizer sections can also be routed to the dynamics side chain to adjust the dynamics response of the input signal. The optional Neve-designed analog-to-digital converter supports standard sample rates up to 192 kHz, and also allows direct conversion to DSD. In listening tests, many engineers and producers preferred the sound of the Neve-designed converter to standalone converters that cost more than the 8801 unit.
Neve's proprietary Recall software (Mac/PC compatible) enables seamless integration with your workstation, allowing instant recall of all external device settings. An essential creative tool, Recall combines the flexibility of a computer-based system with the power and sound quality of an original Neve design. Simply put, the 8801 is the most convenient way to achieve the ultimate Neve analog sound in any serious studio.
