The Neve 33609 Stereo Compressor offers comprehensive limiting and compression for music recording, mastering, post-production and broadcast applications.
Combined with unparalleled ease of use, the 33609 has been a global studio standard for 30 years.
The 33609's signature compression sound is exceptionally smooth, allowing for relatively transparent compression and limiting even at extreme settings. While several iterations of this classic Neve compressor have been produced over the years, the current 33609 offers the best of both worlds: the sound of the original Neve 33609 and enhanced internal and external I/O switching compared to the original model. Like the original, the 33609 also features a discrete output stage, providing a slightly warmer sound than previous models that many professionals prefer. Multiple units can be easily linked for multi-channel operation.
The 33609 features separate sidechains for the compressor and limiter sections, with independent threshold, recovery, and attack controls. The compressor has selectable ratios from 1.5:1 to 6:1 and features a gain make-up control before the limiter. Overall gain reduction is displayed with a moving coil meter.
Like the classic 1073 and 1081 microphone preamps, the 33609 Stereo Compressor is the desert island compressor of choice for the world's top engineers and producers.
