●Redesigned L/i50 cable
The L/i50 cable has a unique identity: a four-core star-quad. The new OCB-1 series is based on the new L/i50 II cable, which follows this universal identity.

◎Common cable specifications for L/i50 II (OCB-1 STII) and L/i50 OFC II (OCB-1 DXsII, OCB-1 EXsII) ・Star-quad structure with four twisted core wires, the same structure as the L/i series since its release. By twisting two wires in each diagonal direction, radiated noise generated by the cable is cancelled out, reducing unwanted noise.
- Flame-resistant polyolefin is used for the insulator and sheath.
The PVC coating on the sheath not only helps block external noise, but also protects the cable from breakage due to unexpected accidents such as being stepped on. This cable satisfies the two important pillars of sound and safety.
- The conductor configuration remains the same as the previous model, 175 strands/0.12mm, achieving both easy cable handling and soft sound.

L/i50 OFC II (OCB-1 DXsII, OCB-1 EXsII) Cable Specifications: While maintaining the basic four-core star-quad structure, this cable uses pure Japanese-made C1011 OFC conductors (domestic type 1 OFC). This specialized conductor ensures delicate musical expression.

High-rigidity outlet box made of PBT-GF30 material (common to all OCB-1 series)
The Oyaide Outlet Box is the heart of the sound. The enclosure is made of PBT-GF30, a highly rigid engineering plastic made from polybutylene terephthalate (TPA) with 30% GF (glass fiber) added. PBT resin is a polyester resin obtained by polycondensation of terephthalic acid (TPA) and 1,4-butanediol (1,4-BG). It is a crystalline engineering plastic with excellent moldability, electrical properties, flame retardancy, chemical resistance, heat aging resistance, weather resistance, and colorability. The addition of glass fiber (GF) reinforces this material, resulting in tensile strength and Charpy impact strength more than double that of conventional materials, and a DTUL (Deflection Temperature Under Load) of 200°C, more than three times that of non-PBT materials (50-85°C). This high rigidity suppresses unwanted noise from the outlet box, which can cause sound distortion and blurring. The monocoque construction secures the outlet with four posts extending from the base, transmitting vibrations directly to the chassis base. The body is 4mm thick, more than 1.4 times thicker than general-purpose PVC products (2.8mm thick). Furthermore, carbon fiber is added to the material to minimize interference between peripheral devices, and 13mm diameter feet are attached to the base to reduce the contact area between the body and the floor, minimizing resonance. These combined elements of material and structure achieve the reduced distortion and high S/N ratio that are characteristic of the OCB-1 series.
