About the S5H
The S5H is a powerful main monitor custom-designed to meet the exacting demands of the world's largest studios and control rooms.
The S5H, a horizontally positioned, three-way monitor, features two 10-inch ELE low-frequency drivers (Extended Linear Excursion) newly designed by ADAM Audio for the S Series. Like other S Series monitors, the woofer unit features ADAM Audio's proprietary SMA (Symmetrical Magnet Assembly) technology, ensuring tight, distortion-free low-frequency reproduction. Reproduction of the musically important midrange is handled by ADAM Audio's new DCH midrange (Dome Cone Hybrid). This innovative 4-inch midrange driver, newly developed by ADAM Audio exclusively for the S Series, combines the acoustic advantages of both cone and dome midrange drivers in a single unit. These drivers, combined with the S-ART tweeter (an update to ADAM Audio's much-acclaimed folded ribbon tweeter), which is manufactured to tighter tolerances than ever before, deliver a powerful yet fatigue-free sound, offering high-resolution, natural sound reproduction with three-dimensional depth.
The tweeter and midrange drivers are fitted with machined aluminium HPS/MPS waveguides (High-frequency/Mid-range Propagation System), which ensure precise off-axis mid- and high-frequency response, resulting in a consistent beam pattern across a wide area, allowing multiple contributors to work simultaneously in the same speaker sweet spot.
The custom-designed DSP in the S Series not only optimizes crossover settings to achieve a linear, flat response across a wide frequency range, but also offers user-configurable EQ and voicing/tuning functions to adapt to room acoustics. It also features a high-frequency limiter for excessive input, AES3 digital input, and future expansion options. Software updates are possible via the built-in USB port, and DSP functions can be controlled from software on a computer by connecting the speaker to the computer.
Each driver unit in the S5H is driven by a total of four amplifiers: two 700W Class D amplifiers for the low-frequency drivers, one 350W Class D amplifier for the midrange drivers, and one 250W Class D amplifier for the S-ART tweeter.
With its innovative features, advanced design, ample headroom, and wide dynamic range, the S5H is ADAM Audio's flagship reference monitor, making it the world's best monitor speaker, delivering the highest fidelity audio reproduction.
