Description

Oyaide's "INS Series" insulators has steadily expanded since the introduction of the "INS-CF," a vibration mode dispersion insulator made of carbon and Texalium, in 2009. The ability to freely combine INS series components and customize sound quality to your liking has garnered overwhelming support from audiophiles, with a growing user base worldwide. Even after the "INS-CF" was discontinued due to difficulty in obtaining the material, many voices called for its revival. Responding to these passionate voices, we began developing a carbon insulator to succeed the "INS-CF." After repeated prototyping, we successfully developed the "INS-CFX," a new vibration mode dispersion insulator that surpasses the "INS-CF."

The "INS-CFX" is a 100% Japanese-made vibration mode dispersion carbon FRP insulator, born from Japan's advanced carbon manufacturing and processing technologies. While inheriting the mass-dispersion design philosophy of the original "INS-CF," it has made a step further, delivering outstanding vibration damping. Carbon FRP products have been gaining attention as a high-strength alternative to steel, but quality can vary greatly depending on the country of origin and manufacturer. Japan boasts world-class carbon material production and processing. The "INSCFX" utilizes domestically produced high-modulus (high-elasticity) T700 and T300 carbon fibers, a result of extensive selection and focus on the highest quality carbon. The inner layer of T700, also used in the construction of aircraft, automobiles, and racing bicycles, is made from a single layer of slightly lower-density T300 carbon fiber on both sides. By dispersing vibration modes, the insulator preserves the high-speed sound characteristic of carbon while achieving a smooth and lustrous musical expression not possible with a single carbon fiber. All processing is done by a specialized carbon fiber processor in Japan. 30 layers are carefully layered by skilled craftsmen. A high-pressure press eliminates voids (air pockets) that can cause quality degradation, ensuring a uniform laminated structure. After heat curing, the material is machined using high-precision NC machining. It can be used on either side. The 20mm coin-sized design also fits into the "INS-BS" design, offering even greater potential for sound quality tuning. It can be used as an insulator or as a tuning chip for AV equipment.
