Description
Description
When using spikes, spike holders are usually used to prevent scratches on the floor, but it is known that the physical properties of the spike holders also have a significant impact on sound quality. Furthermore, spike holders must meet two essential requirements: high dimensional precision and be made from a highly rigid material that can withstand a single point load. If the dimensional precision of the spike holder is low, gaps will form between the spikes, causing the equipment to wobble and preventing the point contact from functioning properly.
Furthermore, even with less rigid spike bases, the load can cause the point contact area to gouge, causing the device to wobble. Not only wood and resin materials, but even copper alloys and aluminum are surprisingly weak against a single point load, and sharp spikes can gouge the point contact area, resulting in incomplete point contact and adversely affecting sound quality. Furthermore, wood and stone materials are prone to chipping and cracking, making them less reliable as spike bases.
Oyaide Electric has the know-how to select the best materials for a particular item and process them using the most appropriate methods. We examined and auditioned a variety of materials to find the material and processing method that would provide the sound quality, dimensional precision, and rigidity required for a spike holder, and the "INS-SP" was born. ■Features◆The highly rigid SUS303 stainless steel used in the "INS-SP" is machined with high precision under computer control, making it the ideal material for spike mounts. Its superior properties compared to other metals make it the perfect material for spike mounts. The "INS-SP" features the high dimensional precision and rigidity required for spike mounts, achieved through computer-controlled precision machining of the stainless steel. This allows for perfect point contact with the spikes without any wobble or deformation.
The SUS303 stainless steel used in the "INS-SP" is resistant to rust and other corrosion with a semi-glossy hairline finish. This creates a strong passive film (a film made of Cr and O) on the surface, making it resistant to rust and other corrosion and maintaining its beautiful appearance for a long time. Furthermore, SUS303 stainless steel is non-magnetic, meaning it will not adversely affect your equipment due to magnetism. The "INS-SP" also features a semi-glossy hairline finish, blending seamlessly into your system while subtly evoking a chic, luxurious look.
◆Ensuring the depth of the recesses for precise spike insertion. The INS-SP features spike insertion recesses that are 2mm deep and 8.8mm in diameter, ensuring sufficient strength, fit, and visibility. This makes the recesses easy to see during installation and makes it easier to insert spikes. Even when the device is subjected to a lateral impact, the spikes will not come out of the recesses, ensuring a stable fit. Furthermore, the recess angle is 130 degrees, making it compatible with a wide range of spikes, from acute angles of 90 degrees or less to obtuse angles up to about 120 degrees.
The reversible "INS-SP" can be used not only as a spike holder but also as a small insulator. Its coin-sized design makes it easy to handle, and its reversible design means it can be used not only as a spike holder but also as a small insulator. Just because it's small doesn't mean it compromises on sound quality. By using the "INS-SP," you can achieve a tight, straight tone that only a hard material can provide, while increasing the sense of density.
◆ Further tuning of sound quality is possible when combined with the INS-BS. The INS-SP is designed as a 20mm diameter spike holder that can be fitted into the INS-BS multi-bass insulator, allowing for further tuning of sound quality when combined with the INS-BS. For example, when combining the two, the tone changes depending on whether the INS-SP is placed on the floor side or on the device side. Various settings can be enjoyed, including tuning with three-point support and four-point support.
◆The amazing price of less than 2,000 yen for a set of four "INS-SP" has been realized at an amazing price of less than 2,000 yen for a set of four. It boasts outstanding cost performance that is not possible with conventional spike holders and insulators.
