Description
Description
You've probably seen artists wearing headphones with this "red band" in photos from various recording studios.
These headphones were developed in collaboration between Sony Music, which is involved in recording studios on a daily basis, and Sony's hardware division, to enable comfortable and accurate recording and monitoring. They offer stunning resolution thanks to a proprietary driver unit, a robust, unadorned structure that can withstand the rigors of daily use, and a weight and comfort that makes them comfortable to wear for long periods of time. All of this is for the creators and engineers who create great sound.
The frequency response has been adjusted to be thoroughly flat, making it possible to "seriously check and judge the sound itself."
These headphones are rare and produced in small quantities, so they are rarely found in general retail stores. The simple packaging, a plain white box, tells you of their origins.
These headphones are completely different from many others that aim to produce "comfortable sound," as they emphasize the low frequencies to create power and boost the mids to create a sense of volume.
When you put on these headphones, you are confronted with the raw, naked sound. You may be shocked at the roughness of your own playing or the sloppiness of your mixing. However, if you can get a sound that satisfies you with these headphones, then perhaps that can be said to be one step closer to achieving "truly good sound."
