Description
The pickups featured on Brad Paisley's 1968 Telecaster LA Brea, a vibrant pink paisley finish guitar, will be available as a signature model.
After years of searching for the perfect guitar, Brad finally found a '68 Telecaster in good condition in 2017. Unfortunately, it had been refinished in black and was far from his ideal.
So Brad took the guitar to a builder who specializes in paisley finishes and asked them to refinish it in the pink paisley that was released in 1968.When they peeled off the black paint, the original 1968 pink paisley was revealed underneath!
Brad named the guitar LA BREA because the black finish, which hid the original, pristine pink paisley finish, reminded him of the LA BREA TAR PITS in Southern California.
Brad wanted to customize the pickups on this guitar to his own taste, so he got in touch with Duncan and they created the Brad Paisley Original Pickups, the LA BREA, with the vintage tone he liked.
The neck pickup is manufactured at 7.55kΩ and uses an Alnico 2 rod magnet and vintage cross wire to provide a smooth, thick neck tone.
These pickups not only reproduce Brad's characteristic sweet highs and tight lows, but also a very taut, twangy sound.
