John Suhr, the man who took revenge on the many manufacturers who had tried to reach the pinnacle of pickup excellence, the 50's PAF, but failed to do so.
It all started when Pete Thorn came up with the Tone Concept to overcome the frustration he felt with pickups from many boutique manufacturers.
Designed to faithfully reproduce the clear, versatile, and expressive sound of the 50's PAF pickup.
Pete says,
"I've played a lot of dual-humbucker guitars, and while they're great for distorting leads, they're a disappointment when playing clean or crunch sounds in the neck or middle positions. If I have to switch to a single-coil guitar during a gig, I end up having to readjust my amp and effects before I can concentrate on playing.
But vintage guitar humbuckers really bring out the multi-tone, clear, and sizzling clean and semi-dirty tones."
The 50's PAF was once said to be impossible to remake, but Suhr Guitars' cutting-edge technology has helped it overcome this final hurdle.
