Description

[We have a used Speed Cobra single pedal in stock!]

The SPEED COBRA pedal, designed for speed-conscious players with its long footboard, has evolved even further. Features include a new Swivel Spring Tight mechanism that converts pedal pressure into smoother circular cam motion, and a newly designed Accu-Strike Cobra Beater that delivers a sound with an enhanced attack, further advancing the SPEED COBRA's concept of combining speed and power.

●Long Footboard
The Speed Cobra's dedicated footboard is approximately 10% longer than the Iron Cobra pedal. By pressing on the heel, which moves less vertically with the same force, you can play faster. We also use a recessed setting to achieve a lighter pedal stroke while maintaining a natural action. By positioning the footboard's starting point farther back, you can achieve a comfortable "lightness" that requires less force to press down.

●Recessed Setting (US PAT.NO.8269089)
Sustained speedy playing requires a lighter pedal feel. The Speed Cobra utilizes a chain system to maintain the natural action of the past, while also focusing on the positioning of the cam and chain to achieve a lighter pedal feel. The force with which the beater strikes the bass drum head is generated primarily by the force (F1) applied to the footboard. Applying the physical principle that the greater the angle θ formed by this footboard force F1 and the chain pulling force F2, the less pedal force F1 is required, the further back the footboard starts, achieving a comfortable "lightness."

Accu-Strike Cobra Beater
This new beater features a new material in the head, developed to maximize the potential of the Speed Cobra pedal. The surface that strikes the bass drum is made of BR (butadiene) resin, which offers moderate hardness and excellent abrasion resistance. The Accu-Strike Beater, which utilizes this material, delivers a consistent, powerful attack even when striking rapidly. Control has also been improved by rebalancing the distance from the tip of the beater head to the end and the shaft position. This results in a solid sound that remains clear even at low volume settings.

Minimizing Power Loss
Speed Cobra pedals are equipped with bearings in each drive section to ensure smooth, stable movement. Ultra-precision bearings, the same type used in computer hard disk drives and automobile ABS systems, are mounted on both ends of the shaft, providing smooth, stable action. High-precision ball bearings at the connection between the spring and shaft efficiently convert footboard force into rotational energy for the cam, ensuring smooth pedal work. Additionally, Oiles bearings in the hinge eliminate uncomfortable lateral movement of the footboard.

●Rolling Glide Lite Sprocket
The cam (sprocket), which has a major impact on pedal action, is a perfect circular cam that strikes a balance between durability and lightness.By reducing the force required for rotational movement, it achieves a light pedal feel.

●Super Stabilizer Design
The frame, which supports the shaft that drives the cam and beater and acts as the skeleton of the pedal, has been made approximately 15mm wider, while the underplate that supports the entire pedal has been made approximately 12mm wider than the previous model. This significant improvement in stability means you can enjoy consistent action even with intense pedal work.

●Swivel Spring Tight (US.PAT.NO.9236038)
This new mechanism was designed to maximize the effectiveness of the spring. The shaft that secures the bottom end of the spring rotates in accordance with the movement of the pedal, allowing the spring to constantly expand and contract vertically without distortion, even during intense movements. This converts the elastic energy stored in the spring into energy that moves the pedal without loss. Furthermore, by reducing friction at the connection point with the spring, we have achieved ideal pedal work, with a light depression and a fast return.

Hinge Guard Block
The method for fixing the bearings on both ends of the hinge shaft has been changed from the previous method of passing them through the side of the footboard to a new method of sandwiching the bearings between the top and bottom. By distributing the force applied to the bearings when you step on the pedal, the load on the hinge shaft itself is reduced. This allows for more precise rotation than previous models, resulting in unprecedented smoothness of operation.

Oil Bearing Hinge
The hinges that support the footboard use Oiles bearings, which are made of bell-brass mesh and coated with Teflon resin. This eliminates uncomfortable lateral movement of the footboard and ensures smooth pedal work.

Speedo Ring
A high-precision ball bearing is installed at the connection point between the spring and shaft. This bearing converts the elastic energy generated in the spring when you step on the footboard into rotational energy for the cam without any waste. Furthermore, it precisely follows the movement of the spring, ensuring that the movement of your foot and the movement of the footboard are linked, resulting in a smooth and coordinated movement.

Vari-Pitch Beater Holder
Beater/footboard angle adjustment function in combination with the Speedo-Ring. This allows you to continuously adjust the distance from the beater to the bass drum head without affecting the footboard angle.

●Para-Clamp II Pro
This upgraded version of TAMA's original clamp securely holds bass drum hoops of various thicknesses. The rubber-tipped tip that secures the bass drum hoop provides increased grip, minimizing damage to the hoop while providing a strong hold. The tip also features a three-dimensional moving design, allowing the tip to adjust to the angle of the bass drum, even when the front of the bass drum is positioned extremely high, ensuring stable pedal placement. What's more, the T-bolt used to secure the pedal can be operated from the side of the footboard, allowing you to attach and detach the pedal while sitting on the stool.

●Cobra Coil (US. PAT.NO.7408104)
The Cobra Coil assists the footboard's return without affecting the footboard's ability to push off by contacting the underside of the footboard just before pushing off. The spring section can be moved back and forth, and by fine-tuning the position where it first hits, you can change the degree of return of the footboard.
