Description
Description
In-line booster for ribbon and dynamic microphones. Can also be used as a 2-channel DI. Safe for use with ribbon microphones. Class A input stage. Equipped with a gain selector switch.
The dBooster2 is a two-channel dBooster that can be used as an inline booster for ribbon and dynamic microphones, and its impedance buffering technology allows each channel to function as a high-impedance DI.
When used as an in-line booster, each channel offers two levels of clean gain boost: 12dB or 20dB, selectable via a front-panel switch. The Class A input provides high source impedance for passive microphones, minimizing loading (attenuation) and improving headroom. The gain switch allows you to achieve the optimal balance of gain and headroom for a variety of environments and applications.
The dBooster2's low-impedance output produces a microphone-level signal that can be input into a standard microphone preamp. The dBooster2 also helps minimize signal loss over long cable runs.
.
When used as a DI, the unbalanced Hi-Z input can be used with selectable gain of 0dB or 8dB. Using the dBooster 2 as a DI allows you to maintain adequate headroom and gain while minimizing distortion and sonic artifacts.
Main uses: - Recording low-volume sources such as acoustic instruments with passive microphones - Connecting a microphone directly to the I/O - Using long microphone cables while maintaining sound quality - As a DI for electric guitars, basses, etc.
Key Features: 12dB/20dB gain stage (mic mode)
0dB/8dB gain stage (DI mode)
High input impedance, balanced draw output impedance, sturdy housing, ultra-low noise performance, ultra-low distortion, wide frequency response
Key Benefits: Ideal for safe use with ribbon microphones. Increases preamp headroom. Provides true electrical isolation. Minimizes microphone loading. Allows optimal leveling even with vintage-style preamps.
