Description
Description
At first glance, SiX looks like any other compact desktop mixer. But a closer look reveals a striking resemblance to an SSL console. With a feature set carefully thought out for complete control and an unquenchable desire for creative spontaneity, SiX is a small, classic SSL design that inherits SSL's 40 years of deep understanding of creative studio workflow. Hear SiX and experience the powerful, intuitive, inspiring, and satisfying sonic performance that guarantees the quality of every SSL console.
SiX is a truly professional console for studio, post-production, on-stage and podcasting.
●Two mono channels
SiX features a pair of recording channels that let you achieve the results you want quickly and easily. The transparent SuperAnalogue mic preamps have a 66dB gain range and feature a separate line-level input that can be switched to +48V, a 75Hz HPF, or instrument level. The newly designed one-knob compressor circuit, inspired by the sound of the SSL channel compressor, features fixed attack and release times, ratios, and automatic gain makeup.
The new two-band SSL EQ allows you to switch between shelving and bell curves, each with a different center frequency.
The insert points are configured with balanced inputs and outputs like the other processing, and the sends are always active, so they can also be used as record sends to a DAW. SiX has a 100mm stroke fader, and its curve is designed to provide perfect control over the gain range most commonly used in both studio work and live production.
12 line inputs for mixdown
SiX has two stereo line input channels. Each has a 100mm fader with -10/+20dB trim and balance control. If only the left input is connected, the channel automatically switches to mono and is panned to the center. The SiX name comes from the two mono and two stereo channels, but it also has two external inputs with level control that can be sent to the mix bus.
Additionally, by adding the ALT input, you can sum up to 12 input channels to the main mix bus.
●Powerful bus compressor
The SiX features a G-Series bus compressor on the main output, which uses classic console circuitry but with fixed ratios, attack and release times, and a more modern quad VCA chip.
Simplified controls make it easy to add the SSL sound to your master bus at any time.
Professional routing and monitoring
SiX has two foldback buses for artist mixes. The master section features a source matrix and two monitor outputs (main and alternate) with mono check, DIM and CUT functions.
The channel mute button can be routed to the B bus, and can be used as a record send to a DAW, or routed to the monitor matrix to easily check remote sources before live distribution. Also, a talkback microphone input equipped with +48V and
It also features SSL's traditional Listen Mic Compressor.
