Description
Description
This is a high-quality stereo active DI box. It's a stereo model of the J48, also used by Paul McCartney. Its built-in switching power supply converts 48V phantom power to DC/DC, providing increased headroom, improved signal quality, and low distortion. Its extremely flat frequency response from 10Hz to 40kHz means even high-output instruments won't distort.
The -15dB pad reduces input sensitivity to prevent overload. The high-pass filter removes unwanted low frequencies and resonances below 80Hz. The phase reverse switch on the side of the unit aligns the phase of the two pickups when using dual pickups or eliminates feedback caused by hot spots on stage.
Its extremely tough construction means it can withstand the rigors of professional use. The case is made from 14-gauge steel, and its unique bookend design protects the controls and switches. The internal frame is resistant to impacts and twisting, and the circuit board is designed to prevent solder peeling. All connectors are made from glass-reinforced plastic and feature large, rust-resistant nickel-silver contacts.
This unit's unique power supply eliminates hum and buzz caused by ground loops. A high-frequency transformer-based DC-to-DC converter floats the ground in the power supply, ensuring continuous phantom power.
The J48 Stereo offers twice the greatness of the classic active DI, the J48.
